StrongmanStrongman is a competitive strength sport which tests athletes' physical strength and endurance through a variety of heavy lifts and events. Strongman competitions are known for their intensity, pushing athletes to their physical and mental limits. In modern strongman, athletes compete to score points based on their relative position in an event. An athlete who engages in the sport of strongman is also called a 'strongman'. They are often regarded as some of the strongest men of the world.

Arnold Strongman ClassicThe Arnold Strongman Classic is an annual competition featuring strength athletes from all over the world, determining who is the Strongest Man in the World. Created by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jim Lorimer and Terry Todd, it is an offshoot of the Arnold Sports Festival which takes place annually in Columbus, Ohio, USA. Widely regarded as the heaviest and the most difficult strongman competition in the world the Arnold Strongman Classic has been won by only 9 men in history. Among them, the Lithuanian Žydrūnas Savickas has won it 8 times, while the American Brian Shaw, the Icelander Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson and the Canadian Mitchell Hooper have won it 3 times each. Three of the past champions: American Mark Henry, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson and Brian Shaw have been inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame.

Brian Shaw (strongman)Brian Shaw (born February 26, 1982) is an American retired professional strongman who is widely regarded as one of the greatest strength athletes of all time and was billed at 6,8 but was just measured in a video at just 6,6.5. He won the 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2016 World's Strongest Man, making him one of only five men to win the World’s Strongest Man four times or more. In 2011, Shaw became the first man to win the Arnold Strongman Classic and the World's Strongest Man competitions in the same calendar year, a feat he replicated in 2015. With 27 international competition wins, he is the fourth most decorated strongman in history. Shaw has also set more than 25 world records in deadlifting, stonelifting, keg-tossing, grip-related movements and more. In October 2024, Shaw was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame.

Eddie HallEdward Stephen Hall (born 15 January 1988) is an English media personality, retired strongman, and current mixed martial artist. He is best known for his then world-record setting 500 kg (1,102 lb) deadlift. He is also known for winning 2017 World's Strongest Man competition. Hall has also won national competitions such as England's Strongest Man, Britain's Strongest Man, and UK's Strongest Man multiple times. In 2022, he was defeated by fellow World's Strongest Man Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson in a boxing match that was taglined "The Heaviest Boxing Match in History". In April of 2025, he defeated 5 times World's Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski, in his mixed martial arts debut. He has presented his own television series called Eddie Eats America (2018) and was featured in the History Channel series The Strongest Man in History (2019). He also had his first acting role as an extra in the action film Expend4bles (2023).

Shaw ClassicThe Shaw Classic is a strongman competition run and hosted by four-time World's Strongest Man Brian Shaw, who won the inaugural competition in 2020. The second edition of the contest had 16 athletes with backgrounds from Europe and North America. The total prize pool in 2020 was $53,900. In 2021 the prize pool increased to $100,000 and in 2022 the prize pool increased to $150,000. In 2023 the prize pool was $251,932. Since 2023, the Shaw Classic's invitational event has been branded as Strongest Man on Earth, formerly used by the Fortissimus strongman competition held in 2008 and 2009.

Mitchell HooperMitchell Hooper (born 29 September 1995) is a Canadian strongman and kinesiologist. He secured 1st place at the 2023 World's Strongest Man competition in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he also became the first Canadian to win the title of World's Strongest Man. He is also the winner of 2023, 2024 and 2025 Arnold Strongman Classic events. In 2023, he became the fourth person to win both the World’s Strongest Man and Arnold Strongman Classic competitions in the same year. As of the 2024 strongman season, Hooper is the only athlete to have won the World's Strongest Man, Arnold Strongman Classic, Rogue Invitational, and Strongest Man on Earth competitions.
