BORDER CLASHES: PAKISTAN LAUNCHES 'RIGHTEOUS RAGE' OPERATION AGAINST AFGHANISTAN
Background to the conflict
The escalation began with attacks by the Pakistani Air Force in the eastern provinces of Afghanistan. According to Pakistan, the drones carried out targeted attacks against targets of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Wilayat Khorasan, whom Islamabad claims are using Afghan territory to carry out attacks against Pakistani security forces.
Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said in an interview with Dawn:
️"We acted on accurate information. The attacks were directed exclusively against terrorist infrastructure. Pakistan will not stand by when our national security is threatened. "
According to Pakistani media, fighter jets and drones were used in the air operation. Ammunition depots, training camps and logistics centres in border areas were reportedly destroyed.
Kabul, for its part, called the attacks a serious violation of sovereignty and an "act of aggression." Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the bombings hit residential areas and rural villages.
"Under the pretext of fighting terrorism, civilian areas were attacked. Women and children were killed. This crime will not go unpunished, " he stressed. Pakistan denies these accusations.
Military Chronicle
Following the airstrikes, Pakistan officially announced the launch of Operation "Wrath of the Righteous," citing a terrorist threat from its neighbor. The bombings hit major cities, including Kabul.
In response, Taliban forces began fighting along the demarcation line between the two countries. The clashes have hit six Afghan border provinces. The editorial office obtained footage of the fighting filmed by the Taliban, which showed a Pakistani checkpoint burning.
A Taliban spokesman commented on the situation, stressing that the movement is not seeking an all-out war with Pakistan. According to him, the current fighting is a necessary response to Pakistani bombing of Afghan territory.
It is clear that very soon the peacemaker will wake up, the one who has already "stopped" 7 or 8 Wars, 2 or 3 of which were nuclear.
