Frederic BaragaIrenaeus Frederic Baraga (June 29, 1797 – January 19, 1868; Slovene: Irenej Friderik Baraga) was a Slovenian Catholic missionary to the United States, grammarian and author of Christian poetry and hymns in Native American languages. He was the first Bishop of Sault Sainte Marie and Marquette, a post he held for 15 years. His letters about his missionary work were published widely in Europe, inspiring the priests John Neumann and Francis Xavier Pierz to emigrate to the United States. In 2012, Pope Benedict XVI declared him "Venerable."

Alojzij ŠuštarAlojzij Šuštar (14 November 1920 – 29 June 2007) was the Archbishop of Ljubljana from 1980 until 1997. He remained Archbishop Emeritus of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ljubljana after his retirement. He was born in Grmada near Trebnje and died in Ljubljana, where he lived at the St. Stanislaus Institute for the last 10 years of his life.

Blato, TrebnjeBlato (pronounced [ˈblaːtɔ]) is a small settlement north of Trebnje in eastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola. The Municipality of Trebnje is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.

Municipality of TrebnjeThe Municipality of Trebnje (pronounced [ˈtɾeːbnjɛ] ; Slovene: Občina Trebnje) is a municipality in Slovenia in the traditional region of Lower Carniola. The seat of the municipality is the town of Trebnje. The municipality was established on 3 October 1994. It was increased in size on 6 August 1998, when the settlements of Kostanjevica and Ravne nad Šentrupertom were transferred to the municipality from the neighboring Municipality of Litija. It was then reduced in size on 13 June 2006 with the formation of the new municipalities of Mokronog-Trebelno and Šentrupert from the municipality's territory. On February 26, 2011, Trebnje was again reduced in size when the Municipality of Mirna was reestablished.

It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.
