List of candidates in the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election
This is a list of candidates in the 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. A total of 2,116 candidates contested 292 seats. The voting in two constituencies had to be postponed to 16 May, after the death of one candidate from each constituency. Voting for said constituencies was postponed again and finally took place on 30 September. A total of 16 candidates contested for these two constituencies.

Ashutosh Kali (5 June 1891 – 7 June 1965) was an Indian revolutionary and freedom fighter associated with the Anushilan Samiti. Born in Bilashkhan village, Faridpur District (now in Bangladesh), he joined the revolutionary movement while still in school. He took part in political dacoities and assisted in the assassination of a British officer. A key figure in the Indo-German Conspiracy and Inter-Provincial conspiracies, he was arrested in 1916 and imprisoned for 22 years. An associate of Subhas Chandra Bose, he later helped establish Anushilan Bhawan in Kolkata. He died in 1965 due to an accidental fall at the Bhawan.

Satya Bhusan Gupta also known as Major Satya Gupta (Bengali: সত্য গুপ্ত) (18 July 1902 – 19 January 1966) was a Bengali revolutionary and political activist from Dhaka, undivided Bengal. Associated early with the "Mukti sangha", he later worked closely with Subhas Chandra Bose, serving as a Major in the Congress volunteer corps during the 1928 Calcutta session. He participated in the formation of Bengal Volunteers, a coalition of Bengal's secret revolutionary societies that planned and coordinated the assassination of highly notorious British officials. Gupta was repeatedly imprisoned by the British Raj between 1930 and 1946 for his political activities. After independence, he engaged in refugee welfare work and spent his final years in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where he died in 1966.

Rasamoy Sur (Bengali: রসময় শূর Rasomoy Sur) (1901–1981) was an Indian revolutionary and a political activist associated with the Bengal Volunteers and later the Forward Bloc. Though little is known about his early life or background, Sur played a key logistical role in the operation, escorting Benoy Basu to the rendezvous point. He was later arrested and sentenced to eight years of rigorous imprisonment. Detained again during World War II, he was released in 1946. A lifelong bachelor, Sur devoted himself to rural social service in post-independence India.

Manindra Kishore Roy (Bengali: মনীন্দ্রকিশোর রায় Manindra Kishore Roy) (5 October 1900 – 1 August 1979) was an Indian revolutionary and political activist associated with the Bengal Volunteers and the Forward Bloc. Influenced by Hemchandra Ghosh, he joined the freedom struggle as a student and served as secretary of Sri sangha in Dhaka. Arrested in 1930, he spent eight years in prison. In 1939, he joined Subhas Chandra Bose’s Forward Bloc and managed its newspaper. Imprisoned again in 1940 under the Defence of India Act, he developed a close association with Bose in jail. After his release in 1946, Roy dedicated himself to public service until his death.

Bhupendra Kishore Rakshit Ray (Bengali: ভূপেন্দ্রকিশোর রক্ষিত রায়) (19 March 1902 – 24 April 1972) was an Indian revolutionary, writer, and social worker from Dhaka. A prominent member of the Bengal Volunteers, he was active under Hemchandra Ghosh’s guidance and imprisoned as a state detainee from 1930 to 1938. Editor of the influential magazine Benu (1928–1932), he was known for inspiring youth activism. After his release, he contributed to refugee rehabilitation in Dandakaranya and held leadership roles in Mahajati Sadan and Biplabi Niketan. Married to fellow revolutionary Ujjwala Majumdar, his notable literary works include Chalar Pathe, Biplab Tirthe, and Bharater Sashastra Biplab.
