6. TEXTURE

Texture- is about surface quality either tactile or visual. Texture can be real or implied by different uses of media. It is the degree of roughness or smoothness in objects.

6.1 Types of textures

In architecture we classify texture tactile texture and Visual texture

Tactile texture

Tactile texture is the tactile quality of a surface, such as rough, smooth, sticky, fuzzy, soft or slick. A real texture is one you can actually feel with your hand, such as a piece of sandpaper, a wet glass, or animal fur.

Visual texture

Visual texture is a visual quality of a surface. It is the result from painting or drawing as the real texture. Visual texture is an illusion of texture created by an artist. Paint can be manipulated to give the impression of texture, while the paper surface remains smooth and flat.

6.2 Homogeneity & Heterogeneity in texture

Textures are formed by repeating the entity or elements of design in different scales, density, color or pattern. When the entities or elements are repeated throughout the surface in an uniform scale or pattern then the texture is called a Homogeneous Texture. Similarly when the scale, color, density or pattern differs distinctly throughout the surface then it is called Heterogeneous Texture. Interesting designs can be formed by blending Homogeneous Textures & Heterogeneous Textures.

7. Value

Value (Brightness) - is the degree of light and dark in color. It is the contrast between black and white and all the tones in between. Value can be used with color as well as black and white. Contrast is the extreme changes between values.

Some channels are stealing our article without mentioning the source that’s why @etconp has finally decided to make prepare pdfs and telegraph page for article.

there is channel called ethio construction which has started visual art topic copying from us but couldn't keep posting part 2 because we have stated presenting you with PDF and instant view all documents are watermarked go and check them all their posts are our posts after 5 days they don't have moral and value so please report that channel and show us your collaboration. for instance we have posted about super elevation 12th of April 2020GC then they posted today April 29- 2020GC they even copied the photo from us and cropped it to make it seem that that's their original post. dear @etconp members it is very very disappointing for us because they don't mention the source and it is very discouraging for us to keep posting.

thank you in advance
