These mount brackets work with the following B-series stuff: Any VTEC or non-VTEC block/head combo. B20b, B20z, B16, B17, B18a, B18b, B18c, etc.
Water pump too. You do not want to use the b20a intake and exhaust manifolds. Using your original intake and exhaust manifolds allow you to keep and use all of your stock sensors and wiring harness. The oil pan from your b20a5 will fit the b20a perfectly. The flywheel and clutch/pressure plate needs to match the transmission.
So a couple days ago my local engine importer ended up having a Jdm B20A at his shop so i picked it up. I pulled my motor out of the car. (*Original*) Engine: B20A5 (229,000 miles) Transmission: D2J3 (229,000 miles) (*New Engine picked up*) Engine: B20A (unknown mileage) Transmission: D2J4 (unknown mileage)
The JDM mount is at a slight angle that doesn't allow your B20 to just "drop in" and bolt up. 2nd issue: I ran into has to do with the ac and ps brackets. You have to swap brackets from your b18 to the JDM b20 otherwise you will not be able to mount your stock ac compressor or ps pump.

The transmission found in JDM GSR's is very popular and overall an excellent transmission. For all motor and boost applicatiosn this transmission has excellent gearing and a stronger differential compared to its B16A and B18B counterparts.
By the way I want it to have a auto tranny, not a manual. The LX-i will be a auto trannied car and I want to try and find a B20A auto as well to replace it if I can't just keep the old tranny. Will the A20A tranny work well with the JDM spec B20A or do I need the JDM spec tranny as well? END OF LINE.
I'm in the process of connecting the wiring harness (I used the B21 Intake and exhaust manifolds) and need some help in identifying where these connectors go. It's an automatic tranny. Re: B20A auto trans problem you need to use auto Ecu and the trany ecu from a 88-91 prelude and you will need to add wire's to run the trany,that why i did not use the auto trany that came with mine b20a.

It's an 88/89 style JDM B20A with auto tranny drive plate. The pic attached shows the condition of it as I bought it. Dirty and very greasy in some spots. You have to use the B21 exhaust manifold and downpipe. use the original O2 sensor and wiring. second...i have absolutely no idea what that on the left is. My ECU with the Auto tranny controller didn't have an LED sight glass and it was mounted much lower on the plate. That's weirdness, man ~Chris
i say the same thing. get a jdm b20a, and use ONLY the block and head from the b20a. swap EVERYTHING else from youir b21 to the b20s. meaning all motor mounts, your original tranny, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, everything.

The b20a is a JDM engine, and was not sold in the US. The previous owner either was lying to you, or (more likely) simply didn't know that the engine had been swapped.
Hey fellow accord brothers, I have a JDM B20A engine which i am considering putting into my 86 prelude SI.. The engine that I have appears to have all the critical components except for things like the axles, wiring harness, ecu, accessories etc..
However, the JDM B20A head would be a better option to mod in my opinion. The intake manifold wouldn't need to be modified to fit in the car since the B20A uses the same mani as the A20A.
Do I need wiring and comuters from the car I take the B20A from (prelude 2nd gen). I have A20A4 engine... I can't find any info about this in the F.A.Q....
My JDM b20a also sits in my garage. My b21 flywheel is right now mounted to my b20a, and my b21 clutch will fit on that flywheel. And since I'm using my original b21 tranny, I know this all must work with my transmission when I put it all together. This is my experience. So: b21 tranny with b20a engine: using b21 flywheel + clutch works.

I'm in the process of swapping a JDM B20 in to my 86 carb'd DX lude. I've seen tons of cheap ECU's on eBay and I'm wondering which one I will need for the JDM engine. Do I have to replace the entire wiring harness for the whole car or can I just get an ODB0 to ODB1 adapter harness?

He also told me that it came out from a 88 honda accord, the N6 tranny works fine, my only problem is finding the cv axles that go with that tranny. The shaft where u slide it in to the tranny is much smaller that the shaft from f4. I whent to different shop around the Los Angeles area, an everbody clueless about N6 trannys.
