“ The King of Parody ” and “award-winning director” are the names that are most often used to describe this porn guru. He’s been in the business since 1990 and has directed more than 500 movies. He’s been working with Vivid Entertainment for quite some time, and has won many awards during that period, but his latest venture, the fairy tale porn parodies, is supported by another great porn studio – Wicked Pictures . Axel Braun has won so many awards for directing, producing, editing, screenwriting, etc. He won AVN Director of the Year on January 18, 2014 , which makes it the fourth consecutive time and he holds the record in that category. Axel was also inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2011 .
Axel Braun was born on September 22, 1966 in Italy. He’s the son of legendary porn-pioneer Lasse Braun (“who was among the first to successfully campaign for the legalization of pornography in Europe”), and grandson of a diplomat, which granted him an opportunity to have special education. Now he is fluent in five languages, a member of MENSA, a film-school graduate, and much other cool stuff, which makes him stand out in porn industry. Axel has a Ph.D. in Psychology, which allows him to make such movies that are appealing to a wide audience. Braun also stated that he’s a comic book fan and fantasy lover, and that’s where he gets an idea to make such great movies and high-selling adult parodies. In October 2013, Braun announced that he won’t film girls under 21 any longer, and on 10 th May 2014 he stated that he wouldn’t shoot movies without condoms and that he required full-panel STD/HIV tests no older than seven days. Axel Braun is also the owner of a large post-production company called Level 5 Post , which provides editing, graphical and special effects and authoring services to many adult and mainstream companies.
It’s no wonder why Axel Braun got into porn industry, since his father “single-handedly made pornography legal in Scandinavia, and basically started the whole porn-industry”. Before his more than successful career as an adult movie director, he was racing cars for four years, managed clubs, played poker professionally, and even got a Ph.D. in Psychology, which really makes him one of a kind porn parody director, and it shouldn’t surprise that he is now called The King of Parody. He graduated from Film School and wanted to make mainstream movies, but then his father called him to participate in directing a soft-core movie , and that’s how it started. He’s worked with many notable porn studios, from Elegant Angel, thru Private, to New Sensations. He’s also worked with Hustler, and shot parodies for “This Ain’t” series .
Now he shoots superhero-themed porn parodies with Vivid Entertainment, and fairy tale parodies with Wicked Pictures. The tremendous success of his movie Batman XXX: A Porn Parody let to creating a new imprint by Vivid called Vivid Superhero. It was the best-selling and best-renting title of 2010.
