Avalanche Dominates Stars in High-Scoring Thriller

'AVALANCHE CRUSH STARS IN WILD, HIGH-SCORING THRILLER—TENSION ERUPTS IN THIRD PERIOD BRAWL!'

DENVER— The Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars turned last night’s showdown into an all-out war on ice, with the Avs skating away with a 6-4 victory in a game that had everything—goals, fights, and a near goalie meltdown!

First Period Fireworks

The Avalanche came out blazing, with Nathan MacKinnon (who else?) firing a laser past Stars goalie Jake Oettinger just 1:24 into the game. But Dallas answered fast—Jason Robertson buried a power-play goal, and Roope Hintz made it 2-1 Stars before the Avs even blinked.

Then—BAM!—Valeri Nichushkin and Mikko Rantanen scored back-to-back to close the period, sending the Ball Arena crowd into a frenzy.

Second Period Chaos

The Stars weren’t done. Tyler Seguin tied it up early, but Colorado’s Cale Makar—the human highlight reel—ripped a slap shot so hard it nearly broke the net. 4-3 Avs.

Then, disaster for Dallas—a brutal turnover led to Artturi Lehkonen sniping one past Oettinger, who slammed his stick in frustration.

Third Period Meltdown

With the score 5-3, things got nasty. Stars enforcer Jamie Benn took a cheap shot at MacKinnon, sparking a full line brawl! Benn and Josh Manson dropped the gloves, while Miro Heiskanen and Devon Toews exchanged heated words.

After the dust settled, Matt Duchene (yes, the former Av) scored to make it 5-4, but an empty-netter by Jonathan Drouin sealed Dallas’ fate.

Post-Game Drama

Stars coach Pete DeBoer fumed: 'We beat ourselves. Too many mistakes, too many penalties. That’s not playoff hockey.'

Meanwhile, Avs coach Jared Bednar smirked: 'When we’re rolling, good luck stopping us.'
