Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have struck again. The remix of Sheeran's "The Joker and the Queen" featuring Swift arrived Friday, and the video stars the same actors that first starred in the video for Swift's "Everything Has Changed" featuring Sheeran. Sheeran confirmed that the remix was on the way after performing the = (Equals) track at the 2022 BRIT Awards earlier this week. On top of "The Joker" and "Everything Has Changed," the pop power duo have also collaborated on "End Game" and "Run (Taylor's Version) [From the Vault]."
Before Robert Pattinson was Edward Cullen, and certainly before he was Batman, he was Cedric Diggory in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." "He's the first death in Harry Potter, which is my claim to fame," the 35-year-old actor told GQ, adding, "I'd sort of fallen into it. I mean, it was so terrifying. I remember the first scene I ever shot on that was in the magical maze at the end, and I'd never done anything with special effects and stunts. It was a big deal, at the time." "It felt very, very intimidating," Pattinson continued. "I think I'd read a book on method acting. The only thing I really got out of that was just beating yourself up before every single scene. That was basically my only concept of how to prepare myself for a scene. I was psyching myself up as if I was going into a fight or something before these scenes. And just screaming into a pillow and punching myself." In the 2005 movie — the fourth installment in the Harry Potter film franchise — Cedric is chosen to battle in the famed Triwizard Tournament. After agreeing to share in victory with Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), in a cruel and sick turn of events, Cedric is killed by Voldemort. "I spent a lot of time living off the 'Harry Potter' money," he added. "I moved to an apartment in Soho in London. I really thought I was gonna do music at that point. ... I was doing a lot of gigs all the time. I was just constantly doing open mics all the time. And then I ran out of money, basically. I was definitely going in the wrong direction in terms of a career up until 'Twilight.'" Pattinson entered an entirely other sphere of fame once "Twilight" premiered in 2008. He starred as the heartthrob vampire Edward through all five films until 2012. Fast forward another 10 years, and Pattinson is preparing to debut as the face of an even more iconic franchise, as "The Batman" hits theaters March 4. Watch the full video of Pattinson breaking down his most iconic characters below.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are determined to get married, despite the pandemic doing everything it can to derail their wedding. Perry, 37, was asked on "The Kyle Jackie O Show" if she secretly got married to Bloom, her fiancé of three years. "Well, no," the 13-time Grammy nominee responded. "It's a destination — location — that we're still trying for it to work out. But every couple months, it's like, 'New variant! New variant! New variant!'" People previously reported in March 2020 that the couple were "all set to tie the knot in Japan" but postponed their plans at the onset of the lockdown. Perry and Bloom, 45, welcomed their first child together in August 2020 — a daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom. Bloom shares son Flynn, 11, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, whom he split from in 2013. Watch Perry's interview below.
As expected, the Dodgers have activated legendary southpaw Clayton Kershaw for his start on Saturday. Justin Bruihl was optioned to Triple-A to open the roster spot, per MLB.com’s Juan Toribio. The veteran southpaw was at his best before a balky back sent him to the injured list for 33 days. He returns owning a 1.80 ERA/2.27 FIP over 30 innings with a stunning 32-to-3 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Kershaw’s return couldn’t come at a better time, given the current uncertainty over the health of Walker Buehler. The Dodgers are clinging to a one-game lead over the Padres in the division. It’s too early to think about the standings, but given the competition in the NL West recently, there doesn’t figure to be much margin for error. Regardless, the Dodgers’ +109 run differential is the best mark in the National League by a decent margin (the Mets are second at +68). Even without Kershaw, the Dodgers rotation has set the tone with a league-leading 2.71 ERA. Bruihl, 24, has been a vital cog for manager Dave Roberts’ bullpen since making his debut last season. Over the two seasons, the California native has a 3.34 ERA/4.35 FIP over 35 career innings. This season, Bruihl has a 3.86 ERA/4.79 FIP in 17 appearances totaling 16 1/3 innings. Bruihl has held lefties to a punchless .250/.273/.250 line in 35 plate appearances this season, but he’s given it back to righties, who have hit .269/.394/.539 across 34 plate appearances.
In auto racing, they call it ride-blocking. In hockey, maybe we should call it coach-blocking? Because that’s what appears to be currently happening with the NHL coaching market. All eyes are on Barry Trotz. The 2018 Stanley Cup winner with the Washington Capitals is a free agent after being fired by New York Islanders general manager Lou Lamoriello not long after the regular season concluded. Many believe Trotz holds all the cards. Whenever he makes a decision on where to coach next, there will be a domino effect. The expectation is there will be a rapid succession of hirings. I agree with that sentiment — to a degree. If you’d asked me a week ago, I definitely would have said the same. But things have changed. When the Boston Bruins unceremoniously fired Bruce Cassidy just weeks after telling him that his job was safe, the coaching market shifted. I believe Cassidy is now the front-runner for many of the open NHL coaching jobs. And for good reason. Cassidy had a crack at being an NHL head coach very young in his post-playing career in the early 2000s with the Washington Capitals. It didn’t last long. But Cassidy was able to claw his way back to the NHL, working his way up from within the Bruins organization. I saw the results in AHL Providence firsthand. Cassidy always got the best out of his teams. And he continued that success in 2017 after he took over the head-coaching job of the Bruins from Claude Julien. The Bruins never missed the playoffs under Cassidy and came within one win of a Stanley Cup championship in 2018, losing to the St. Louis Blues in Game 7 of the finals. Cassidy’s teams play with structure. They lock down defensively. And when Cassidy is provided with ample offensive firepower — something that’s been missing in Boston recently — his teams can score. I think Cassidy is now the most desirable coach on the market. He’s hungry, and he’s got something to prove. He wants to coach again immediately. I think he’s eager for his next job and would like it to start as soon as possible. With Trotz, I think it’s different. He’s done everything in hockey. He’s won a Stanley Cup. He helped build the expansion Nashville Predators into something special. Trotz has every right to take whatever time is necessary to find the perfect fit. With the Stanley Cup playoffs still ongoing, teams seem to be in a holding pattern. And I think there’s still questions about whether Andrew Brunette will return as head coach of the Florida Panthers. In my eyes, GM Bill Zito needs to either give Brunette a public vote of confidence, or move on. But regardless of the Panthers situation, I believe that once Cassidy is hired, the run will be on. And Trotz won’t be far behind. But from there, it’s hard to handicap the field. There are so many qualified coaches currently available. The interesting aspect from a player standpoint is how a coach can be a recruiting tool. Or a deterrent. Think about the Calgary Flames. No doubt head coach Darryl Sutter has made a positive impact. He won the NHL’s Jack Adams Award this season as the league’s top bench boss. But Sutter is notoriously demanding of his staff and players. I can’t help but wonder what his relationship with Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk is like. I don’t know if it’s good, bad or indifferent. But if you’re an unrestricted free agent like Gaudreau, staring down the biggest decision of your career — worth tens of millions of dollars — is the coach a factor? Absolutely. If Gaudreau signs an eight-year pact with the Flames, it’s a pretty sure bet a lot of that time will be spent with Sutter. Maybe that’s a good thing. Gaudreau just had the best offensive season of his career under Sutter. For all I know, it was all positive. But don’t think for a second that free agents like Gaudreau aren’t aware of the coaching market. If Barry Trotz goes to Philadelphia — despite their struggles over the past several years — the Flyers instantly rocket upward in terms of a desirable landing spot. Players want to win. And coaching matters. Players want to believe in their coach and vice versa. They want to be trusted. And word spreads quickly among the players how each coach operates. For top-end players with multiple contract offers, it’s something that weighs heavily in their final decisions. Thinking back to my career, there weren’t many coaches on my no-fly list. And truth be told, I didn’t have many choices to make. There were only a few summers that I had more than one offer on the table. But there was one coach that absolutely terrified me. John Tortorella. Most people are aware of Tortorella’s blunt, no-nonsense approach to coaching. I certainly was. And I actually believe we would have gotten along really well from that standpoint. I craved feedback and constructive criticism. I wanted details and communication. The best coaches I ever had — Glen Gulutzan, Scott Allen, etc. — were all fantastic at meshing the human component with the tactical. But what scared me about Tortorella was training camp. And specifically, the amount of running Tortorella demanded. I run like a wounded gorilla. It’s not fun for me. I’m terrible at it. And I’d heard all the stories from Tortorella’s former players about running countless miles during training camp. I didn’t want any part of it. My body was built to play goaltender, not casually jog eight or 10 miles. So I avoided Tortorella at all costs. Which is sad because I think he’s a great coach and someone I would have loved to play for. It’ll be interesting to see when the coaching logjam breaks. I can’t imagine it drags on past the Stanley Cup final. Or even into July. Teams need to have their staff in place well before NHL free agency opens at noon ET on July 13. The players are paying attention. They need time to digest the coaching moves that will be made around the NHL. It’s up to the teams to make the right decisions. For now. And for the future.
Now that the "And Just Like That..." finale has been released, Sarah Jessica Parker and showrunner Michael Patrick King have an eye toward what the future could hold for the HBO Max revival series. Specifically, as asked by Variety's Kate Aurthur, would SJP be open if Kim Cattrall changed her mind and wanted to reprise her role of Samantha? "I don't think I would, because I think there's just too much public history of feelings on her part that she's shared," Parker explained. "I haven't participated in or read articles, although people are inclined to let me know." The "Sex and the City" icon continued: "We didn’t go to Kim for this, you know. After we didn't do the movie and the studio couldn’t meet what she wanted to do, we have to hear her and listen to her and what was important to her. It didn’t fit into what was important or needed for us. There’s a very distinct line between Samantha and Kim. Samantha’s not gone. Samantha’s present, and I think was handled with such respect and elegance. She wasn’t villainized. She was a human being who had feelings about a relationship, so I think we found a way to address it which was necessary and important for people that loved her." Cattrall has left nothing to the imagination about where she stands with wanting to move on from Sex and the City as well as stating she was "never friends" with her co-stars Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.
Sony has reportedly identified the first-ever female superhero for its Marvel universe. Reported exclusively by Deadline, Dakota Johnson "is in talks" to portray Madame Web for an upcoming Madame Web movie from Sony Pictures set to be directed by S.J. Clarkson. Justin Kroll provided more context: "In the comics, Madame Web is depicted as an elderly woman with myasthenia gravis and thus was connected to a life support system that looked like a spider web. Due to her age and medical condition, Madame Web never actively fought any villains. For that reason, sources have stressed it’s possible the project could turn into something else. Insiders say due to her psychic sensory powers, she is essentially Sony’s version of Doctor Strange. "Either way, getting a female-driven property in Sony’s universe of Marvel characters has always been a top priority for studio brass given the long list of strong female characters that appear in these comics throughout the years. Sony execs have taken their time in figuring out who would land the title role, meeting with a number of A-listers. In the last two months, the list has been cut down, with Johnson gaining front-runner status right before the holiday." Johnson is currently starring in "The Lost Daughter" and "Am I OK?" The 32-year-old actress surged to mainstream fame by fronting the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy from 2015-18. "I think it’s really smart when actors who reach that level of ubiquity and could springboard into more conventional, mainstream success stay disciplined about working with quality directors," MGM movie chairman Michael De Luca said of Johnson for this November The Hollywood Reporter profile. "Dakota has been really smart about making sure she’s always aligned with quality directors. Then, everything's at your disposal — commercial movies, interesting and provocative indie films. Now she can have it all."

Adele is all smiles. British tabloid The Sun claimed in recent days that Adele and Rich Paul, her boyfriend of nearly a year, were having trouble. The 15-time Grammy winner clapped back with this Instagram post: "Hiya, so I’m really happy to say that I am performing at the Brits next week!!" Adele captioned the cheery photo. "Anddddd I’ll also be popping in to see Graham [Norton] for a chat on the couch while I’m in town too! I’m looking forward to it! Oh, and Rich sends his love." That settles that, then. The 2022 BRIT Awards are scheduled for Feb. 8, where Adele is nominated four times: artist of the year, album of the year (30), best pop/R B act, and song of the year ("Easy On Me"). Adele's performance at the BRITs will come just over three weeks after she tearfully announced the postponement of her Las Vegas residency.
Let us rejoice! Rihanna is pregnant, according to these stunning photos of her walking hand-in-hand—baby bump out and proud—with longtime boyfriend A$AP Rocky in New York City: Rihanna, 33, and Rocky, 33, have been romantically linked since 2020 after years of friendship. In March 2020, Rihanna told British Vogue that she wanted to have "three or four" kids within the next 10 years and added that she was definitely open to being a single mother if she hadn't met the right person by then. "I feel like society makes me want to feel like, 'Oh, you got it wrong...,'" the nine-time Grammy winner and Fenty mogul explained. "They diminish you as a mother if th
