Although a tad expensive the cable car is a brilliant way to go up to the top of Katrin as you see the stunning Austrian landscape as you go up. Will mention though that if it's hot it can get a bit uncomfortable!
The Katrin is a mountain near Bad Ischl in the Upper Austrian part of the Salzkammergut. Numerous hiking routes lead from the top.

Explore this 1.4-mile loop trail near Bad Ischl, Upper Austria. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a popular trail for rock climbing and via ferrata, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.
