What lacked for Sage was a scene where the two tease each other to death. A huge missed opportunity for that was that little escapade scene when they went to the HOTs house to get the trophy. That would be the perfect moment to have them make out or something like that, similar to Bella's library scene.
Simply put, you cannot get the full Sage scene if you go with Lily first and you can't get the Lily scene if you go with Sage first. There's no workaround or choice from earlier in the game that can let you get both.

IIRC you only need to be in Sage's path for the offer. Quinn likes Sage and she'll fuck you just cause. Although there's different dialogue and possible extended scene at the end if you're on Quinn's path. As long as you help Quinn in ep6, you're on your way to do her path, and you can do Sage and Quinn up until episode 8 if you want.
Don't have any sex scenes with any of the other girls at the party before Sage. Doing this will also cause you to lose a few scenes with others.
