‼️ Attention Russian citizens in Qatar ‼️

‼️ Attention Russian citizens in Qatar ‼️
In response to inquiries received by the Russian Embassy in the context of the temporary closure of Qatar's airspace, we deem it necessary to provide our compatriots with the following recommendations.
Due to the closure of Qatari airspace, repatriation flights from Doha are not possible. Under these circumstances, the preferred route for independent or organized departure from Qatar is the land route via Saudi Arabia, departing from airports in Riyadh (600 km), Dammam (350 km), Jeddah (1,550 km), or the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi 600 km, Dubai 720 km).
Please note that due to the tense regional situation in these countries, flight delays or cancellations are also possible.
Please note that flight statuses and current ticket prices should be checked on the websites of the relevant international airports and airlines.
The Abu Samra land border crossing operates on the Qatar-Saudi border. To cross it, Russian citizens require a valid visa to Saudi Arabia. This can be obtained online (preferably by applying in advance at visa.visitsaudi.com) or at the border (visa-free travel with Saudi Arabia has not yet been implemented). The cost of a visa, including insurance, is approximately $120. Payment is by credit card only.
We also consider it necessary to clarify the following. At the urgent request of the Russian side, Qatar Airways operated flights to Moscow on March 9 and 10. These flights were intended for passengers with confirmed Qatar Airways tickets. For the second flight, the airline opened limited ticket sales to the general public. The passenger lists were compiled by the airline itself. The possibility of operating another similar flight is currently being explored if there are sufficient passengers wishing to fly to Russia.
We emphasize that the Qatari side strongly recommends that tourists consider leaving Qatar as soon as possible.
In response to inquiries regarding the security situation, the Russian Embassy in Qatar urges citizens in Qatar to maintain their normal routine, while taking into account the current situation, exercise common sense, and take precautions. We remind you that Qatari authorities have strictly banned the distribution of video footage of air defense systems and affected facilities.
We recommend continuing to monitor the Embassy's official online resources (website –), including our Telegram channel: Russian Embassy in Qatar. The Embassy's emergency hotline is +974 5588 7659. For inquiries, please email rusembqatar@mid.ru.
