Theron's character is On Her Majesty's Secret Service, but it is more a case of double oh-my-God than OO7.
The actress plays killer queen Lorraine Broughton who is MI6's most feared and deadly assassin – and she is on a mission to show that anyting the boys can do, she can do bigger and better.
In fact, just like Mr Bond, she is happy to demonstrate that she is also a killer between the sheets in incredibly steamy scenes with Star Trek Beyond and Kingsman beauty Sofia Boutela.
The new film oozes sex and savage violence and Lorraine sleeps and slays her way across Europe.
With a sensual British accent and a wardrobe combing lots of leather, fishnets and polo necks, the secret agent is on a deadly mission to Berlin in an alternate version of the modern day.
Based on the Oni Press graphic novel The Coldest City by Antony Johnston and illustrator Sam Hart this movie and its irresistible leaing lady are on-screen viagra for the often overly-predictable spy thriller genre.
The film also stars an impressive line-up of Uk actors including James McAvoy as the liason at the Berlin bureau who helps Lorraine navigate the dangerous city.
Toby Jones, John Goodman and Eddie Marsan also star.
The edgy look and pacing of the film is the signature of John Wick director David Leitch. The in-demand director is also lined up for the upcoming Deadpool sequel, which has just revealed who will play Domino in a cryptic message from Ryan Reynolds.
The savage and slick trailer is perfectly soundtracked by a reimagined version of New Order's Blue Monday, linking back to the doom pop syth sounds inspired by the Berlin music scene of the 1980s.
Queen's Killer Queen is also deployed to ironic and knowing effect as Lorraine shows exactly what she's capable of.
If she even came face to face with Jame Bond, our money is on the lady...
Atomic Blonde is out in Uk cinemas on August 11.

She recently called for more same-sex love scenes in Hollywood films, telling USA Today 'It's not something we see enough of in cinema.'
And Charlize Theron, 41, revealed that filming her lesbian love scene with Atomic Blonde co-star Sofia Boutella required good choreography and that their mutual dance backgrounds came in handy.
'All that stuff is technical … then it somehow looks magical. That's the secret of making movies,' she told News Corp on Thursday.

'Sofia is so beautiful — incredibly stunning. I couldn't even imagine doing that with anybody else but her because we treated it like dancers.
She continued: 'It was really about movement and choreography and, because we are both dancers, there was something that just happened with us that was very in synch.'

Sending a message? Academy award-winner Charlize previously told USA Today that same-sex relationships are still rare in Hollywood films
'It's very real. And we're so scared of it. And it's beautiful in the film. It's very sexy.
She added: 'The two of us talked a lot about how it's about time that women can own their sexuality the same way males get to in movies.'

Charlize Theron had eight personal trainers to help her master her intensely physical performance. She also trained with Keanu Reeves , who was preparing for John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) .
In the underground station before entering East-Berlin, West-German custom officers were shown checking papers of travellers into the east. This is wrong in two aspects. First, West-Germany regarded East-Germany as a part of the still existing Germany. Border checks would have given the impression that there are two individual states, something any West-German government (left or right) avoided like a plague. Second, all underground stations that featured a border crossing, were located in East-Berlin. West-Berlin officials would have never been allowed there.

Absolute masterpiece: Beautiful, sexy and silly
Yeah, this has "sexy hot chick" written all over it. I simply love this movie and it is in my top 3 of 2017. It has it all: Beautiful babes, action packed as hell and easy to watch while not being simple in any sense of the word. It is tongue in cheek all the way and keeps your attention every minute of the ride. If you like your action sexy and flaunting, you need to watch this movie. I may still talk my wife into a menage a trois
