For over two decades, Asuka Langley Sohryu has captured the minds and hearts of Neon Genesis Evangelion fans the world over. With her sassy attitude, bold persona, and great design, it is near impossible to debate the impact of this red-haired mecha pilot. Sometimes she may be a bit too aggressive in her mannerisms, but she is indeed a character that deserves all of the hype and attention she has received over the years.
But what is the best way to celebrate such an icon of anime history? Simple - cosplay her! And with so many talented people that have done their tributes to Asuka over the years, its time they get a bit of fandom love right back at them. So without further ado, here are 10 Amazing Asuka Cosplays That Look Just Like The Anime!
Sometimes the best cosplays are the simplest of ones, much like this Asuka tribute by DramaticFanatic. Here, all of the best yet essential elements of the character are portrayed with a down to earth nature - one that seems incredibly organic however still looks as if it popped straight out of a promotional illustration.
And with the cute yet comfortable looking outfit, delicate make-up (especially when it comes to the choice in eye shadow), this cosplayer (photographed by Yanda Panda ) completely embodies everything we love about this Eva-pilot without going too over the top.
One of the most iconic outfits to ever come from Asuka's closet has to be her yellow dress. Shown during her first appearance in episode 8, cosplayer LilithNagisaIV (photographed by Massimo Todisco) brings to life this famous piece with ease.
Though it can be difficult to have your unique spin on a frequently done cosplay, this is an example of one that accomplishes it brilliantly. And with spot-on details like her screen-accurate contacts (to correctly display Asuka's baby blues), along with the cute plush Angel, there is no shortage of reasons why this cosplay is fantastic.

There have been many merry-takes on this red-haired cutie over the years, but sometimes they can come off a bit too over the top. This creation, on the other hand, strikes the perfect balance of being adorable while also being a bit mischievous, which works for Asuka and for the season she's celebrating such a jolly look with.

Sometimes the greatest of cosplays aren't exactly the most innovative in their subject matter but have the most unique presentation. That's certainly the case with this Asuka cosplay, created by Taisiaflyagina and photographed by Nikolay Zharov .
Sure, this is an outfit seen on the character multiple times throughout the series, but in this stunning collaboration, the costume and photo feels like it comes straight out of a live-action adaptation of the anime franchise, and that is an impressive quality that not many creatives can accomplish. There are some cosplays that blow you away. But then there are the creations done by talented folks like shirogane_sama (photographed here by pollypwnz) - who just stomp all over the competition, becoming the definition of excellence. From head to toe, this cosplayer nails every inch of Asuka to a level that is practically uncanny.
But the most noticeable aspect is the posing of her feet, which, if you know anything about the character designs by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, they have a particular look. Indeed, there aren't enough positive words in the dictionary to give this and all of shirogane_sama's Asuka creations.

it was perfect and fit really well, my only issue is the fingers are wayy to long for me
Fits nice I’m 4”11 and 100 pounds i got a x small it’s a little bit tighter than expected on some places but it works kinda perfect so yea it’s pretty good
The suit fits really well and is quite comfortable. The only downside is that it's see-through but if you wear white leggings underneath you should be good.

i have so many of these full bodysuit cosplays but these ones are by far my favorites. the suit is not see through and fits my proportions well. i’ve bought the black and white plug suit before and my friend ordered asuka’s suit and we were very pleased with our purchases! i even had to order a size up for one of them because the size m was out of stock but it still fit me quite well (some loose fabric around the stomach area but hardly noticeable). overall i’d highly recommend this company
Great success! Had a last minute viewing party for the new eva movie and so glad this came in time and fit so well! I'm 5'0, maybe 125 pounds and typically wear a small, and so that's what I ordered and -- viola! the fingers and feet were a little big for me but I have extremely small hands and feet so I don't anticipate that being a problem for a more average sized person. slightly see-through around the butt-area and went waaay up my buttcrack (which was great for the intimate little party I was having -- but if you wear bike shorts underneath it'd be no problem to wear to a convention or other public event). Material felt durable, it was comfortable to wear, and colors were vivid, my fiancee even commented how soft my skin felt after taking it off -- so that's also a plus. A little hot and sweaty in there but that's to be expected. Overall, totally worth the money if you're looking for a decent plugsuit to wear around.

I love this plugsuit so much!! It is so comfortable and its stretchy too! I recommend ordering a size down, since I am around 90lbs, and my measurements are 32",24",and 30" and I'm 60" tall, and the extra small still has lots of size, and some visible fabric rolls due to it being a bit big. But it does not bother me at all, just jotting it down for others to note :) If you gotta choose a quick Evangelion cosplay, this is the one!
