About the role
Alpine Business Consulting is brought in when enterprise systems stop working the way they should. We specialize in fixing performance management and reporting tools for clients who need a single source of truth for their financial data. Our partner is a major logistics firm that relies on accurate, real-time reporting to manage its global operations. Currently, their internal reporting tools are difficult to use and lack the clarity required for quick decision-making. We are looking for an Associate Frontend Engineer to help us rebuild and refine these interfaces so their team can focus on their work rather than fighting their software.
This is a permanent, full-time position. As a member of our team, you will work in a fully remote environment. We do not have a central office and we do not expect you to travel. You will collaborate with senior consultants who have years of experience in the field, helping to turn complex requirements into clean, functional web interfaces.
What you will be doing
Your day-to-day work will center on building and maintaining the frontend components of our client projects. You will not just be making things look nice, you will be ensuring that data visualizations are accurate and that navigation is intuitive for finance professionals. Specifically, you will:
* Develop responsive web components using modern JavaScript frameworks.
* Collaborate with our consultants to understand the specific data reporting needs of the logistics firm.
* Translate technical requirements and wireframes into clean, reusable code.
* Write clear documentation that explains how the frontend is configured, ensuring the client can maintain the system after our handover.
* Assist in testing new features to ensure they work reliably across different browsers and devices.
* Participate in code reviews where you will receive direct feedback from senior engineers to help you grow your technical skills.
What we need from you
This is an entry-level position intended for someone early in their career or an intern looking to transition into a full-time role. We are more interested in your ability to learn and your attention to detail than a long list of previous jobs. We are looking for:
* A solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
* Some exposure to or familiarity with React, Vue, or a similar frontend framework.
* The ability to write clearly. Since we are a remote company, good writing is how we communicate ideas and document our work.
* An interest in data and how it is presented. You should care about whether a chart or table is actually useful to the person reading it.
* Reliability and the ability to manage your own schedule within a remote work structure.
* A willingness to ask questions when a requirement is unclear. We prefer getting it right the first time over rushing to a wrong conclusion.
