Assistant — Privacy Policy

Overview

Assistant is a Chrome browser extension designed to simplify the management of Facebook advertising accounts through a convenient side-panel interface.

The extension operates using your existing Facebook authentication session and provides tools for monitoring advertising performance, managing campaigns, adjusting budgets, and organizing advertising assets.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Assistant accesses, how that information is processed, and what controls are available to users.

1. Information Accessed by Assistant

Assistant accesses certain information to provide its core functionality.

Facebook Authentication Information

The extension may access your existing Facebook session information, including authentication tokens and cookies.

This information is used to communicate with Facebook services on your behalf and enable authorized account management operations. Users can also view and copy their own session information through the extension’s dedicated Token/Cookies interface.

Two-Factor Authentication Information

If you voluntarily provide a TOTP authentication secret, Assistant uses it to generate time-based verification codes locally within your browser.

Facebook Profile Information

Basic account information, including your Facebook name and user ID, may be stored locally to identify your active session within the extension.

Advertising Account Information

Assistant retrieves advertising-related information through Facebook services, including:

  • Advertising accounts and their statuses
  • Campaigns, ad sets, and advertisements
  • Advertising budgets and spending statistics
  • Facebook Pages and associated information
  • Product catalogs and Business Manager assets
  • Account timezones and spending limits

This information is used to display account activity and perform management operations requested by the user.

2. How Information Is Used

Information accessed by Assistant is used exclusively to support the extension’s advertised functionality.

This includes displaying advertising account information, executing user-initiated campaign operations, adjusting budgets, managing advertising assets, and calculating advertising expenditure.

Assistant does not use this information for advertising profiling, behavioral analysis, or unrelated commercial purposes.

3. Data Transmission

Assistant communicates with the following services when necessary.

Facebook Services

Domains: graph.facebook.com and facebook.com

The extension communicates with Facebook services to retrieve advertising information and perform operations authorized by the user.

Currency Conversion Services

Domains: open.er-api.com and api.exchangerate-api.com

Assistant may request currency exchange rates to display advertising expenditure in different currencies.

Only currency-related parameters are transmitted for these requests. Personal information is not intentionally included.

Optional Advertising Spend Export

Assistant includes an optional feature that allows users to export advertising spending information to a personally configured HTTPS endpoint.

This feature:

  • Is disabled by default.
  • Requires explicit activation by the user.
  • Sends advertising spend information at the ad set level.
  • Uses only the destination configured by the user.
  • Can be disabled at any time.

The developer does not provide a default collection endpoint for this feature.

4. Data Collection and Third Parties

Assistant is designed to operate without developer-controlled data collection.

The developer does not intentionally collect, store on external servers, sell, rent, or commercially distribute users’ Facebook authentication information or advertising data.

The extension does not include third-party advertising trackers, behavioral analytics systems, or advertising profiling services.

User information is not used for creditworthiness assessments or eligibility decisions.

Data is transmitted to external services only as necessary for the functionality described in this policy, including Facebook services, currency exchange rate providers, and user-configured export destinations.

5. Local Storage and Security

Assistant stores extension-related information locally using Chrome’s browser storage mechanisms, including chrome.storage.local.

Locally stored information may include authentication-related data, user preferences, account organization settings, and other information necessary for the extension’s operation.

Authentication credentials and TOTP secrets are sensitive information. Users should protect access to their browser profiles and devices.

6. User Control and Data Removal

Users remain in control of their locally stored extension information.

You can remove locally stored data by clearing Assistant’s extension storage or uninstalling the extension from Chrome.

Optional features, including advertising spend export, can be enabled or disabled through the extension’s settings.

Uninstalling Assistant removes its locally stored extension data but does not delete information maintained independently by Facebook or any external endpoint configured by the user.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in Assistant’s functionality, data handling practices, or applicable requirements.

When changes are made, the revision date displayed at the beginning of this document will be updated.
