The impact of manufacturers will be assessed as well and DOE will use an updated version of its Industry Cash Flow model, which has been adapted for this product type to calculate the manufacturing NPV. In addition, DOE will consider the potential impact on small-business manufacturers and other subgroups of manufacturers to determine if they could be affected in a different way by these proposals.

DOE will also examine whether the test procedure for microwave ovens needs to be updated in order to include active mode power consumption as well as a possible integrated energy use measure. Currently, the test procedures only deal with standby mode power use.
