The Cabinet Office published the results of the first-ever online survey on chikan, or groping incidents, on July 4.
The measure was taken after police reported that gropers, known in Japanese as chikan, deliberately targeted victims during the all-important entrance exams last weekend — on the assumption that a young woman hurrying to a crucial test would not run the risk of being late by making a complaint.
