Oh, it's bloody, very bloody. But that just adds definition to the action. This film incorporates all of the hero and anti hero elements, and reminds me of some of the more classic samurai films.

I expected to be laughing throughout the movie but after the one hour mark I got very emotional as the storyline sudden changes. I love this because it's so heartwarming but also highlights tragedies in history. Superb cast !!

A willfully oddball martial arts drama that rises above its modest station thanks to star Stephy Tang's lead performance. Even when we feel that life is miserable, martial arts instills discipline and teaches us to persevere.
It's a powerful story, with great performances, and I enjoyed a lot of the camerawork and visual storytelling as well. It's also truly refreshing to see a Chinese film that's so feminist. Zhou gives a hearbreaking performance

The story itself has an amazing pace, and in my opinion, has the perfect combination of romance, drama and music. The developments feel very natural and there are no fillers. The only "complain" I can have from the story is that the ending might feel a little unsatisfying.

To say that the storyline is cliched is giving it more credit than it deserves. But the film manages to succeed anyway, thanks largely to the quiet charisma and likeability of its physically imposing leading man Ma Dong-seok
