I noticed that "cute" korean beauty brands changed their packaging

When I was a kid (11-12 years old), i was ADDICTED to korean beauty/skincare packaging. My birth giver used to buy products from tony moly, etude house, skinfood, etc. And i was so obsessed with the unique and cute packaging, especially etude house, i loved going to the actual store and look at the products.
An hour ago, i was looking for lip balms and skin care products, then i remembered the brands that was mentioned above. I looked at their online stores and instagrams and noticed that most of the products i have known are no longer in production. Well, that part is a bit expected since it has been years since i last saw them, but their "new" products seem to have a different packaging now. It seems so... Boring?
Is it because "cute" packaging isn't "in" anymore? For example, i was looking for the tony moly honey lip balm, and i can't find it. Did they just change their packaging and went for a more "serious" vibe and moved on from the "cute", "princess", and " food" themed packaging?
Thus far my favorites are Innisfree My Lip Balms (unfortunately didn't even discover them until after they were discontinued), Innisfree canola honey balm, and the Holika Holika Good Cera balm.
Butttttt..... I have a lip balm addiction and want more to try. What are your favorites?

Asian-American girls: 1st, 2nd and 1.5 generation
Comment deleted by user Β· 8 yr. ago
The only space on the web dedicated to critically examining the Asian male experience.
As someone with tons of experience dating the wide spectrum of Asian girls, I wanted to bring up a topic for discussion. Disclaimer: This is a rambling post.
The following is my anecdotal experience (but I have a lot of experience). And it's in general, there will be exceptions and I've met plenty of exceptions. But generally, the following are trends:
These girls were born and raised in the States/Canada/etc. Or born in Asia and grew up in the West from infant age, so they're 100% culturally Western.
Looks: no bangs, darker/tanner skin, lack of perms, lack of short hair; while plenty of 2nd gen AA girls are super hot, there is a larger proportion of chubby girls.
Fashion: Depends on if they hangout with fellow AAs or white people. Former will go full H&M feminine style and will look quite nice. Latter is frumpy, wears flip flops + jeans + tshirt out to the bars, no makeup at all.
Attitude: Again, it depends on their social group. Generally they are just 100% American though.
These girls are the FOBs but are a bit more assimilated. They speak English pretty well and lived in Melbourne / Vancouver or some other "working holiday" city for 1-4 years. They dated white guys and prefer to live abroad rather than their native country. Usually, they "studied" (aka got plastered) for a semester overseas too.
Looks: Asian petite bodies. More tan than full FOBs.
Fashion: Much more revealing of shoulders and cleavage compared to Asian female fashion (which tends to go short shorts + loose fitting shirt). High heels always to the clubs. Makeup always. Look good.
Attitude: These girls like citing how "open-minded" they are and "open to new cultures", but I've found it's mostly rationalizing for "wanting to have fun". When things get serious at a personal level, they still are Asian culturally and will obviously fall back on that. Example: dating other races of guys and saying "I want to explore" but that race is usually only Asian or White. Never "brown".
These girls are the true in-betweeners. They are 100% fluent in both languages (English and ____). Usually, they come from a wealthy family who could afford to send them abroad for boarding school at a young age. Example: There's tons of overpriced private boarding schools for Asians in Canada that train rich Asian kids to master the SATs to get into Harvard, etc.
These girls will go abroad at like age 12 and stay there through university, then will return to get a job in Asia to be close to their family.
As a result, they are very disconnected from their family, although they still love them. But every 1.5 girl I've met has a dysfunctional family from not having direct parental influence.
They also are torn between being American or ____. Major identity issues, as would be expected. They are too foreign for Asians and too Asian for even full Asian-Americans.
Almost all 1.5 girls I've met retain their preference for Asian guys and like speaking their native language in a relationship. While 2nd gen AAs act like Americans and 1st gen act like Asians, 1.5 AA girls act like Asians but do it while speaking fluent English with no accent.
Looks and Fashion tend to be like 2nd gen girls...just typical young American girl style.
The 1.5 gen chicks have a hard time finding local dudes here in Japan.
Because they speak English, and because speaking fluent English is a status symbol, they usually can't/don't want to go out with dudes who can't speak English. They usually realize this when they go on an overseas vacation and end up having to lead the trip because their man can't order at McDonald's without staring at the menu for 10 minutes.
2nd gens that I see in Japan during the summer (mostly college chicks) really stand out because they wear way more revealing clothing and far less make-up. Other giveaways are ultra white, straight teeth, thin eyebrows, and exposed pudge.
Is there a big 1.5 community there? I always thought Japanese were "content" to stay in Japan.
OTOH, while Korea is a small country, it dominates in immigration, prostitution, etc. Every Korean wants to go overseas. There's a whole academy/consulting industry here regarding medical tourism, student tourism, intl academies etc. They have special korean slang terms for them too.
Because they speak English, and because speaking fluent English is a status symbol, they usually can't/don't want to go out with dudes who can't speak English.
Same as HK. A lot of 1.5 gen kids end up dating only other 1.5 gen kids.
They get high grades in stem fields or was in the advanced program in high-school but they are absolutely sexual strategists.
Why would getting high grades in STEM fields preclude them from being sexual strategists?
As a Korean-American adoptee, you'd think the 1.5 generation would be a sweet spot, but in my experience, it's the 2 or 1 that I have the most success with.
1.5s are my fav, followed by tie between 1 or 2...depending on their attitude.
1.5 is the sweet spot if you speak your "native" tongue too
Recently it will probably change but I don't want Asian women, because I know I have lots of options. It's not an identity issue, I just have a fetish for certain races/ ethnicity's. I don't really care if it's disgusting and that I'm objectifying women. You should know what you want and learn to embrace it.
I know this is cliche but I can't generalize all Asian women because every type of girl is at least crazy. I never met a unicorn girl who was perfect in every way. I really don't think soul mates exist. I think it's unhealthy for me to search for something that doesn't exist. There's some Asian girls I've known personally who think it's awesome they get to ride the train. It's so empowering, it goes against Asian stereotypes, it makes me a strong independent woman bullshit. Like bitch you're a whore, but we can't say that because I would be called a misogynist / sarcasm.
I kind of wish more of us Asian guys where more alpha because I find it creepy when Asian brahs white knight Asian chicks. It's always that Asian guy who does it to. Black guys and to a lesser extend white guys don't have this issue with women as do Asian guys. This shouldn't be acceptable behavior for us lol. But it's common in our group and it's a shame. Genghis Khan is crying in his grave. But seriously there's some decent Asian women or any women out there. As men where hunters, so it's going to take a while for them to fall for the bait.
