Why Malay politicians not in favour of MMJ?
Answer:
That’s a tough question you asked. I take a worldview which is quite different from most but yet with me it will not remain a worldview; I will structure the elements of the world view so that it is implementable in the world we live in. Listening to the interview nothing drives me more than to recall a legendary Ustaz in my mind who has said the importance of kenal diri or knowing ourselves. Of course the key concept is awalluddin makrifatullah. But I would like to focus on the extensions that come after that. In other words, kenal diri, kenal sejarah and kenal systems. These two personalities including the govt for that matter are very experienced in their world; and can offer solutions within their world or within the box accepted by the world.
I refused to stay in that box, I have a genuine fear of my Creator demanding to know from me why I did not act as the khalifahtul ardh as He demanded. Of course I may not be able to implement what is required as a khalifahtul ardh. But He will ask why I didn’t even have the objectives of khalifahtul ardh clearly in my mind?! Isn't there the Quran and the Sunnah to be guided by? Why didn’t I cleanse myself of the western corruption of my mind and at least understand what is required of me? Was the Quran sent down to be sung?! Is not the Quran to be implemented? If you are not able to implement, shouldn’t at least its objectives be in your mind? Shouldn’t you at least wish for them to be implemented?
These are two experienced personalities, impactful within the confines of their world, but clearly bereft of knowledge of the real workings of our monetary system, and the devastating impact on the umat of the world view carried by our education system. We feel lonesome. The task at hand is huge. Biiznillah
