How about we stopped turning personal loans into an industry?
How about treating personal loans as we treat alchohol today?
Disallowed to be available openly. If you need it its available but strict to access.
Perhaps it should be linked to a Zakat institution who works together with a govt institution for monitoring.
Serious penalties and jail for blackmarket providers.
When the govt consider riba a minor sin....
When our forefathers gained independence they were too happy at that moment to rethink the systems they inherited.
Its the generations after that who should tahsiniyyat/perbaikki/reform/replace the systems we practise, having the comfort of time to do so.
AlQuran constantly demands we think- Afala ta' kilun, afala tatafakkarun, afala tazakkarun, afala tubsirun wa afala yatadabbarun.
We didnt!
Then came a thinker like Prof Syed Naguib AlAttas who pointed out our Education System is based on the Worldview of the West, not based on the Worldview of Quran and Sunnah as demanded by our Creator.
He was backed by world class Islamic Thinkers/Academicians throughout the world.
Apart from UIA honouring him and his thoughts, the people and the govt did little or nothing.
Apart from giving him accolades after accolades.
Raja Zarith Sofia et all celebrated him as a philosopher.
And ignore his general message to Islamise Economics, Monetary Systems, Medicine, Politics, Science, Education System, etc.
MMJ is trying by exposing the Rethink/Reform required on the Monetary System.
And also to reform the Education System, but firstly to reveal the inbuilt prevention of the Education System from revealing the ill effects of the Monetary System.
Our leaders go through this twisted Education System that hides the truth.
They dont even see the problem let alone have solutions for it.
And people feel detached from this fight as if its somebody else's fight, betraying their own grandchildren and great grandchildren who will suffer from their present indifference.
The current problems faced by all nations in the world today practising this legacy monetary system including Malaysia are:
1. Permanent Inflation stealing purchasing power of people. Suffered by everyone and hardest on poor people.
2. Unemployed youths and graduates. In the world today there is 260 million youth unemployed in all countries. About 7 Malaysias full of unemployed youths. In Malaysia almost 1 million unemployed.
Those that gets job salaries too low because banks direct too little funds , 7-16% to SMEs that creates 70%-80% of jobs in a nation. SMEs company with sales RM50m and below. More people looking for jobs then there are number of jobs.
Parents wages and salaries are also low when jobs are not created in a nation.
3. Ever widening poverty gaps ; rich gets richer poor gets poorer.
4. Rocketing house prices. In late 90s 20x70 house in USJ RM160,000. Today in Elmina 20x70 house is RM850,000.
What is the price of houses for your children/grandchildren in 2090? RM1 million? RM1.5 million?
He or she will blame you for doing nothing now when you can save the situation for them.
5. In 1982 Ford Laser 1.3 hatchback is RM14,000. Today similar cars are RM40,000. In 1980s RM40,000 is price of BMW 4 Series. What will price of first car be in 2090? RM140,000?
Those are the practical issues we face today.
And MMJ wants to go on the ground to spread the knowledge to all the people so we can reach critical mass and be a voice the nation cannot ignore.
This is our path now. Create small groups within your reach. Attend Train the Trainer MMJ Courses so you can spread the knowledge. Spread the knowledge to people around you and within your reach. Form a branch, even online. Call MMJ Speakers to give talks to your groups. Soon we will be millions and a force that can no longer be ignored in national politics and policies.
