Another nonsensical analysis from someone who has lost the plot. Why is the Central Bank Governor forever concerned with the banks' profits? Because the same banks that lend are the same banks that conduct the payment system of the nation. If she does not ensure banks are profitable the national payment system will collapse.
World Monetary Reformists have said time and again create two banking systems - one lends or invests but cannot operate the payment system; the other just operate the payment system and earn fees.
So whatever happens to the lending banks the nation's payments system is safe. Wouldn't that free the nation from ensuring banks must be profitable - to maintain the national payment system? Surely when you are asked to show allegiance it must be to your nation, not to a foreign based Swiss institution with murky objectives!
