By Par , September 19, in Seat Arosa. Picked up a 52 plate Arosa a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately the heater only operates on switch position 4! So I have the choice of OFF or ON full blast must be a digital system , I have just taken the switch unit out and checked it over and it all seems to work as it should. Therefore unless the fault is in the cabling which appears to be quite heavy duty I am thinking it is the blower unit which is at fault. Are there any other things to check and is there any guide to changing the blower unit, I assume it is right behind the dash and will involve a lot of swear words and losing skin from my knuckles! I have the same problem 4 is my lucky number. Be careful though, one of the ones I got was worse than the one fitted to the car, oh, and it is bigger than you'd expect ;-. Speak to your local dealer Take it the Arosa one is different from the Lupo one then? On the Lupo its under the dash at the passenger side. Sounds like it is the resistor that has gone, will have a look this weekend to see if I can find where it is. It was the resistor pack that had went, swapped it today and now have all 4 fan speeds, a lot easier job than changing the whole blower unit! Glad I checked on here first - thanks for the help. Re: Thinking of buying an Arosa — , PM. Pedal boxes break where the clutch cable passes through. The clutch pedal will be low if it has gone. Re: Thinking of buying an Arosa — , AM. As a panel beater painter I can reccomend things to look out for bodywork and structure wise. Firstly I would look out for signs of rust around windows, wheel arches, sills and lower door skins. I would then check to see if the panels all line up eye sweet especially the front as the arosa's can be quite easily made to look straight because of the nature of the front bumper with the grills. I know most cars on the road new ones aswell have had some sort of paint repair. It's not an issue if a panel has been blown over but it could be hiding somethign nasty underneath. As for mechanics I cant really advise much to you but hopefully somebody here could help. A horrid problem I have to deal with on the Arosa and Lupo is failure of the welds for the door check straps. Initially you as a mechanic think this will not be too much of a problem to re-weld but when you get in there you find to get at the check strap holder you have to cut through two box sections to gain access. Gearboxes are fragile as on the Polo and the trim is a bit flimsy but by and large, not a bad car. The 1.
