Modern Family alum Ariel Winter is one of the most fashionable actresses in young Hollywood. Whether she’s posing on the red carpet or stepping out on the street, the Los Angeles native is always dressed to impress — and that includes some memorable braless moments .
Not only is Ariel stylish and talented, but she’s also honest! Over the years, the former sitcom star has opened up about self-love and body image on a number of occasions, most notably after deciding to undergo breast reduction surgery .
“It really did happen overnight. I remember being in my sister’s wedding and being so flat and thinking, ‘I just wish I would grow boobs!’ and then overnight I did. But then they kept growing and growing and growing and it didn’t seem like they were going to stop,” Ariel recalled during a 2015 interview with Glamour magazine . “I was 15 years old with [size] F [breasts]. It’s like, ‘How do you navigate that?’”
Ultimately, her decision to go under the knife was less about appearances, and more about quality of life. “It started to hurt so bad that I couldn’t take the pain,” Ariel said. “I got it for myself. I can’t even really put it into words about how amazing it feels to really feel right.”
Prior to undergoing breast reduction surgery, Ariel, who got her start on Modern Family 2009, never felt comfortable in her own skin. “We live in a day and age where everything you do is ridiculed. The internet bullies are awful. I could post a photo where I feel good, and 500 people will comment about how fat I am and that I am disgusting,” she explained.
“On [red carpets], I just said to myself, ‘You have to do your best to look confident and stand up tall and make yourself look as good as you can in these photos,’ because everyone is going to see them. I definitely seemed confident; I’m an actress, that’s what we do,” Ariel admitted. “But on the inside, I wasn’t feeling so happy.”
Nowadays, Ariel appears happier and healthier than ever! Since Modern Family wrapped in 2020, the A-lister is focused on other projects, like Don’t Log Off and Crimelands , as well as spending time with her boyfriend, Luke Benward .

Ariel Winter looked casual yet sexy in her most recent outing. As those who follow the Modern Family star on social media know, pretty much nothing is off-limits when it comes to showing off her amazing figure in revealing outfits . Winter regularly floods her wildly popular Instagram page with photos of herself clad in some seriously sexy ensembles. Of course, she also has her fair share of photos taken by the paparazzi when she is out, and some brand new photos that were shared by Daily Mail show the beauty running errands yesterday afternoon.
According to the publication, Winter and a male pal were spotted out and about in Los Angeles together, and their outing included a stop at Sweet Flower cannabis dispensary as well as the popular grocery chain Trader Joe's. In one of the photos that was snapped by the paps, Winter could be seen holding a white paper bag from the dispensary, though it was unclear what goodies she had purchased during her trip there. For the occasion, the 21-year-old rocked a plain white t-shirt that was loose-fitting but still left very little to the imagination as she went braless underneath.
The actress paired the look with some dark-wash skinny jeans and wore a cream-colored sweater tied around her waist. For the most part, the actress appeared to be makeup-free, letting her natural beauty shine through. Winter also rocked a high and messy bun with a few pieces of hair falling around her face. She completed the look with a pair of black-and-white flats and some car keys worn on the buckle of her belt.
Previously, The Inquisitr shared that Winter sizzled in another sexy outfit, that time one that showcased her taut tummy. For the look, the bombshell rocked a gray miniskirt in addition to a cropped blouse that featured stylish sleeves that flared out. She completed the chic look with a cropped blazer, and once again, she proved that her fashion game was on point.

Ariel Winter admits that she "had a hard time finding confidence" as she grew into a young woman while on Modern Family -- but that's all changed.
The 18-year-old actress poses topless in unretouched photos for SELF , and opens up about how she came to accept her curves.
"Growing up in the spotlight was quite possibly the worst for my self-esteem," she says. "When I started [ Modern Family ], I had a completely different body than what happened overnight at 12 years old. I was stick thin, I had no chest, I had no butt -- I had nothing. I was totally flat, and I was so sad about it. Then automatically, overnight, my body changed drastically. I was a D cup and had a bigger butt, and my waist was expanding. Everything was getting bigger. I automatically got this hate and judgment online."
Winter says it was her co-star, Sofia Vergara, that helped her come to accept her body transformation. "I had a great role model in Sofia growing up, with her being a curvy woman that was super proud of who she was and what she looked like,” she shares. “[Sofia] could see that I was struggling a little bit with how to deal with my body, and was always trying to give me advice, like, ‘Here are some brands that would look good on our body type,’ or ‘Wear whatever you want, and feel good about yourself.’”
Winter also credits her older sister, Shanelle Workman, whom she lives with, for encouraging her to be comfortable in her own skin. “I look up to her so much," she gushes. "I would listen to her talk to me, saying, ‘It doesn’t matter what other people think. You are who you are. It’s not going to change. Love yourself for who you are. People are going to hate regardless of what you do. You could conform to everything they say, and they’re still going to find something to pick. Or you could be yourself and be happy and not listen to what they say.’”
Winter decided to get a breast reduction when she was 17 -- her surgical scar can be seen in the photos for SELF -- and since then, has been outspoken on social media about loving one's body. "I think people make a lot of judgments about me based on what I wear and all the things that I do," she explains. "They kind of glorify and objectify a lot of the things that I do, and I wish people would just see me as the normal 18-year-old that I am. I’m doing the same things that everybody my age is doing."
When speaking to ET , Winter further defended the risque selfies she shares on Instagram and Snapchat. "Everybody is so hyped up on the fact that I post photos where my butt's out. It's a butt. Everyone has a butt," she said. "It's like, 'Let me live! I'm enjoying my life, you're enjoying your life, you should be posting your butt if you like it, too!'"
