BAE Systems has unveiled the first Archer howitzer on the German MAN HX2 8x8 chassis for the Swedish Army. This is the first car from the new production batch.
In 2023, Sweden signed a contract for the supply of 48 Archer units. In the past, Sweden transferred 8 Archer to Ukraine on the old Volvo A30D chassis, while the next 18 promised self-propelled guns, apparently, will also remain on Volvo.
One of the reasons for the chassis change is unification with the NATO countries.
