Visitors of this site know that I often will write about things that touch upon spirituality in ways that border upon the supernatural. But if you believe in the construct of psycho-spiritualism , it doesn’t take long to recognize that that the essence of our humanity comes to us in different forms and pathways. 
What follows is a detailed breakdown Aquarius , including information about this Zodiac’s symbol. The material has been infused with teachings from the ancients, using Spirit Animal Guides as offered by Native Indian Tribes to highlight certain characteristics. And I want to be clear that I am not an “astrologer” or “psychic”.
I am, however, someone who is attracted to the world of spirituality for reasons that I do not yet fully understand, which may be a result of being born under the Scorpio Zodiac sign . Plus – I just like to write.

When you see the Aquarius symbol, the sign is almost always represented by a “Glyph” – which is an elemental symbol representing water. Greek mythology (Circa 550 BC) suggests the symbol itself is based on the story of Ganymede, a handsome young prince who was reported to be the most beautiful in all of Hellenistic Troy.
Ganymede was a servant to Zeus – King of Mount Olympus and of all other Greek Gods. As the legend goes, he was the “Cup Bearer” and was charged with fetching water and wine for Zeus whenever the mighty God wanted it.
And so one day, according to myth, Ganymede got fed up with being Zeus’s slave and decided to dump all of the ambrosia (wine, water, etc) from Mt. Olympus to the earth. As the liquid fell, it caused massive flooding. The ancients believe this is the reason we today have some rivers and lakes.
Zeus initially wanted to punish Ganymede but instead decided to show him mercy by making him immortal. Today, we see Aquarius in the night sky, nestled between the constellation Pisces and Cetus. 
Aquarian men (and women) are ruled by Saturn and Uranus . This is significant because based on ancient lore and teachings from the time of the early Greeks, both planets are believed to deeply influence this sign. 
According to legend Uranus , located some 1.6 billion miles from earth, is responsible for freedom of expression, change and the ability to conceptualize new possibilities. If you’ve ever met an Aquarius male you know these words are emblematic of their personality. 
Aquarius’s other ruling planet, gas giant Saturn , located 746 million miles from where you are right now, was thought to be responsible for cosmic energy that empowers keen mental abilities, inventiveness and intelligence.
Think about Aquarius guys for a moment. Are these planetary characteristics not spot on – like 100% – of this sign? 
People who fall under the Aquarius zodiac sign are highly autonomous individuals. While they do work well with others they do not like being told what to do. People born under the 11 th sign of the zodiac are considered an air sign .
This means they like plenty of space to move about and do not want to be restricted. The Aquarius motto is: “I know.” Out of all of the astrological signs, Aquarius is one of the most rare. 
Aquarius born people love to make others in their circle of friends laugh. Despite being someone detached and even aloof – Aquarius people have a “chip” that enables them to be extremely charming.
That chip becomes activated when they feel closeness to others. Known for the spontaneity, people born under this air sign often “live in the moment” and have no problem coming up with something fun to do at the last minute.
Aquarius born individuals are naturally rebellious. These are the individuals who question the standard order of things and ask direct and will challenge those who are perceived to be carrying out an injustice. Many Aquarius have fixed opinions, which makes sense because this zodiac is considered to be “fixed” in astrology.
What makes Aquarius people unique is their ability to synthesize new information after allowing it to absorb and then synthesizing that material into a new dynamic. This is not always true of other fixed zodiac signs.
The Aquarius born person will naturally gravitate towards a number of professions, including teaching and social work or job that involves being able to see the “big picture”. Because they tend to be progressive in nature, Aquarius is able to think outside of the box in uncanny ways and challenge others to do the same.
People who are born under the Aquarius zodiac sign are philosophers, theorists and researchers. Their one challenge in the workplace relates to having problems focusing on the mundane.
Aquarius people need to be involved with things that hold their attention. If the work they are doing is considered boring or doesn’t offer any new insight – they can become lost in the task and lose interest quickly.
Aquarius people are constantly in search of new insight and wisdom. Because of their observant and logical nature, they have an uncanny ability to cut through emotional barriers about a given issue or topic and speak the truth. Aquarius can do this in ways that often shock others and may cause others to gasp.
What’s interesting is that when these kinds of remarks are made – they are usually dead on. Aquarius will say what everyone else is thinking but nobody has the gonads to actually verbalize.
A key psychological trait of Aquarius is their ability to get in touch with the existential and focus on the question: “Why?” Remember, this air sign is empowered by the intellect and not the emotional, which is vastly different than others astrological signs.
People who are born under the Aquarius zodiac sign are often described as “distant” and “aloof” because they use their intellect as a primary connector with the world around them and their feelings second.
While they want to fit in with others, they are not commanded to do so. In fact, Aquarius often adopt a “like me or not” attitude and will not waste their time trying to win another person over or gain their acceptance. Again – very different than the other signs of the zodiac.
The Aquarius sign is empowered by the need to seek out wisdom. This is why so many people born under this air sign are independent, autonomous and frankly – super smart. These are individuals who often go against the grain and honestly do not have two-cents what others think about their approach to life. One interesting characteristic of Aquarius is there desire ability to be alone.
They are perfectly content spending hours with themselves in pursuit of knowledge and insight. This is not to say Aquarius doesn’t like to socialize with others because this air sign can be very social.
One of Aquarius positive traits is their non-judgmental view of others and ability to adapt to new situations. If you were to tell an Aquarius that alien life forms were found on the planet Saturn (a ruling planet of Aquarius), they would likely respond by saying, “Can you tell me everything you know about these creatures”?
They are super curious about how things work and how to make things better. If you are friends with or mated with an Aquarius, you need to know this sign does like to shock others and can cause a spectacle. Aquarians have a deep and abiding respect for all life forms and love to be around animals.
Aquarius men are driven by intellectual stimulation. It doesn’t matter how attractive you are or how many people think of you as “hot” … if you don’t capture the intellectual attention of the Aquarius, very little is going to happen.

I remember my first encounter with an Aquarius man . He came up to me in a bar and said "It would be a crime if we didn’t go out with each other". It was back in the days of punk rock and against the fashion, he wore a tartan shirt. He looked like a library assistant. 
I was instantly smitten. There was something beguiling about him. He defied convention. He trod his own path. And that, my friend, is an Aquarius man. 
In order to understand Aquarius, it is important to examine the particulars of his Zodiac.
Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the Zodiac.
Positive traits: tolerance, individuality, vision, open-mindedness, humanitarian, independent, originality.
Negative traits: neurosis, easily distracted, detached, won’t commit, eccentric, aloof.
Air signs are the communicators and the thinkers of the world. Imagine them throwing up ideas and concepts into the air, working out the answers in their own mind. 
Air signs are curious intellectuals who see their role in life as educators. They are objective individuals who are idealistic and strive to help others. 
Uranus is the planet of sudden and drastic change. It is associated with the invention, scientific innovation, and discovery. It is also related to uprisings and rebellion. 
Any radical shifts in thinking or world strategy can be afforded to Uranus. This planet forces us to change our attitude, our mind, our life, and our way of thinking, reforming ourselves.

Some Aquarians are obviously bookish nerdy types but not all. I know an Aquarius man who is a devoted football supporter, in fact, he is a season ticket holder yet loves Beethoven and reads Thomas Hardy at the weekend to relax. Aquarians soak up knowledge like sponges. 
Aquarians march to the beat of their own drum. This means that very often they’ll wear clothes that are not in fashion, they’ll like music that is not in vogue, basically, they like what they like and to hell with the rest of us. 
Think of them as your crazy cousin with the dyed blue hair who skateboards to college with an old-fashioned Walkman because he loves the crackling sound the cassettes make. 
You may think that Aquarians are a bit shy when you first meet them but don’t be fooled; they are simply sizing you up. Aquarian men never do anything they are not happy doing. In fact, they can have quite a temper when provoked. Especially if you are restricting his freedom in some way. 
There are some star signs that crave the love and partnership of a family unit. Take Cancer or Pisces man for example. These are dedicated and loving family-orientated men. On the other hand, we have an Aquarius man. He is not quite as independent as Gemini or Aries, but he does value his freedom.
Uranus may be the planet of innovation, science, and technology but Aquarians are also incredibly creative too. This can manifest itself in a number of ways, from wearing weird and outlandish clothes or dyeing their hair rainbow colors to working in a creative field.

Aquarius has a very strong sense of justice and cares, not only about the plight of others but of the planet and animals. As a result, you’ll often find them campaigning on behalf of charities for green projects or living alternative lifestyles. 
We already know that Aquarius is an Air sign so it’s not surprising to learn that the Aquarius male is analytical in his approach to reasoning and thinking. He uses logic to deconstruct ideas and theories before arriving at his conclusion. 
Aquarians are forward-thinkers, again, this is thanks to Uranus. Their ruling planet gives them the power to easily see the bigger picture. Moreover, they are a fixed sign which means that once they have a theory they’ll get working on it immediately.
