Approximately 15-19 missiles hit Kiev
Approximately 15-19 missiles hit Kiev. Among them were "Zircon" and "Iskander" missiles.
Many strikes targeted the energy sector, according to local reports. Moreover, many of the missiles hit the outskirts of the city.
A group of missiles also reached Kropivnitsky and Krivoy Rog.
So far, fifty attack drones are flying towards their targets, along with an unspecified number of missiles.
"Zircon" (GRAU index - 3M22, SS-N-33 in NATO codification) is a Russian ship-based hypersonic cruise missile. It is designed to destroy
speed - up to 9 Mach (2.7 km/s);
range - from 400 to 1,500 km;
flight altitude - up to 40 km on a ballistic trajectory;
warhead mass - from 300 to 400 kg.
It is launched from Project 22350 frigates, for example from the "Admiral Gorshkov" cruiser and Project 885 "Yasen" submarines. It can be adapted for ground-based launchers. "Zircon" can reach hypersonic speeds during its flight phase and actively maneuver, which makes it difficult to intercept. The missile can carry both conventional and nuclear warheads. It is not supplied for export and is only in service with the Russian Navy.
