China Market Challenges

Another major concern is Apple’s performance in China, where local competitors like Huawei and Xiaomi are gaining market share with advanced, lower-priced alternatives. Recent data from Counterpoint Research shows Apple’s smartphone market share in China fell to 15% in Q1 2025, down from 19% a year earlier.

The Chinese government’s push for domestic tech self-sufficiency has also led to restrictions on Apple products in some state-affiliated organizations, further pressuring sales.

Services and AI in Focus

Despite hardware struggles, Apple’s services segment—including Apple Music, iCloud, and the App Store—remains a bright spot, growing 12% year-over-year. Investors are also watching for updates on Apple’s AI strategy, with rumors suggesting major AI integrations in iOS 18, expected to be unveiled at WWDC in June.
