Anyone Played Minecraft On An M1 Mac?

Have you ever played Minecraft on an M1 Mac

Hey!

When I read the reviews of the new Macs, particularly the MacBook Pro, I'm very tempted to switch over from my Surface Pro 4 to a Mac. I was a Mac user during the Snow Leopard to Mavericks days. However, I changed to Windows a few decades ago.

I have a variety of programs I use that I've heard users say that work perfectly on M1 however, does anyone know if Minecraft (Java) can be played on an M1 Mac? It's one of my favorite games and I don't think I could replace my laptop with one that doesn't support it. I know Java exists for ARM, but I haven't heard of anyone playing Minecraft on an M! Mac!

Thanks! (I hope that I put it in the right place!)

Minecraft servers

It is highly recommended. The M1 Mac will blow your surface off the board performance-wise. It's just an issue of time until Minecraft is optimized to the M1. You can run both versions until then. Bedrock (because M1's can natively run applications for iOS/iPadOS today) and Java (translated in real time running Rosetta 2 which is built into. You won't even notice the differences.

I side loaded Minecraft to my M1 Mac but keyboard and mouse won't work. How did you side load it sir?

yes

Information from the video: Java does not have a native M1 app , therefore it has to use Rosetta 2 Emulation.

He was comparing the Baseline 7-core GPU MacBook Air to the Baseline8-core GPU MacBook Pro. The MBP generated the world (same seed on both) at a rate of a second however, the MacBook Air seemed to be getting a bit better FPS for whatever reason (he used the same settings for graphics on both).

This comparison is not perfect. He left vsync running and the FPS is limited to 60 FPS. It would be interesting to see how far it could go.

The iOS, Android, and Windows 10 Minecraft versions all are compatible. However, the Pocket Edition Realms server will not allow the PC and Mac versions to play each other. You can still play with your friends on Android and an iOS device.
