Anne Heche Spread Sex Scene

How did Ashton Kutcher and Anne Heche prepare to shoot their explicit new film Spread ? By scurrying to the gym and slimming down.

“I did everything I possibly could to give him a run for his money onscreen,” Heche, 40, told PEOPLE at Saturday night’s premiere of the movie in East Hampton, N.Y. “I ran and I did a few more sit-ups than normal … and stayed away from the butter.”

Kutcher, 31, who plays a hustler sleeping his way into a life of privilege (and seducing Heche’s character along the way), likewise dropped weight. “I had just played a movie [ Personal Effects ] where I played a wrestler,” he told PEOPLE, “so I had to lose like 10 pounds and stop eating and take care of myself. I really cut back to a meal a day. I was probably down to 175 pounds.”

Heche said she also wanted to look good next to the film’s third costar, Margarita Levieva, who is a full decade Heche’s junior. Both actresses credited Kutcher’s wife, Demi Moore , for her support of the sexually charged project.

“Demi was there a lot,” Levieva said. ” She was kind to me. She wasn’t there to freak us out or anything. She was incredibly kind and generous and made me feel safe.”

Added Heche: “I worked with [Moore] on The Juror , and there was an intimacy that she needed [with the new film]. I don’t think it’s a mistake that she and I had been friends. There needs to be trust there when you send your guy off to work.”

The actors said they took the sexual nature of their roles seriously. “We wanted to create something that nobody’s ever done before,” Heche said. “We wanted to be more outrageous and dangerous. Nobody was joking around about it.”

“We entered into these scenes and said, ‘What are we going to do to make this honest?'” said Kutcher. “It’s our job.”

How did Moore, 46, feel about the finished product? “I’m a big fan of the movie,” she told PEOPLE.

The party scene very early in the movie that introduces Anne Heche is an impressively orchestrated long take (no cuts) lasting more than three and a half minutes.

I was surprised to find so many descriptions for this movie describing it or tagging it as a comedy... by my reckoning it's more of a light drama expressing the costs of inconsiderate over-indulgence. The players and performers all did their job as one would hope in any movie, but emptiness in the script and storyline left me wishing I'd spent my time more productively. I can't speak to any sense of realism in it, but perhaps there are worldly examples I'm simply unaware of. I did enjoy a few aspects of it, but there's little in the way of empathy that one can generate for the characters within as they're all between 'hollow & insensitive' and 'dishonest & abusive'. My suspicion is that it will have greater appeal for younger audiences, mainly because some of the scenes portray rampant levels of decadence that they'll be more likely to appreciate than those of us in our 40s.

Nikki : [as he's preparing a meal] It doesn't matter if you can cook or not. Women grade on effort. It's almost better when the meal's a flop. It shows you're willing to make a fool of yourself. It's all about creating equity. Think of it as a point system. One for flowers, two for dinner, three for an orgasm. You need 26 points for them to trust you. And then you can go back to watching football.

^ Jump up to: a b c Heche was declared brain dead and officially pronounced dead on August 11, 2022. [5] [6] However, she was kept on life support until August 14 to keep her heart beating until organ donor recipients could be found. As a result, there were conflicting media reports, with some news outlets reporting her death on August 12, while others waited until August 14. [7] [8]

^ Key sources give varied details of this incident. The People magazine story includes an interview with a Fresno technical college student who was alone at her family home when she encountered Heche. [188] In Heche's own account in Call Me Crazy , she says that she encountered a rural farm family who spoke little English. [191] The accounts differ in several other key details as well.
