The reason for this is that the eldest son was also pushed out of the will, following a conflict of interest during the ‘80s. He wanted what he believed he was owed, just like Anna, so the pair did what they could to win in court. Unfortunately for them, neither was successful in getting the money they desperately sought.
Fighting for her part of Marshall’s estate wasn’t the only time that Anna ended up in court. The model also landed in hot water after accusations emerged of inappropriate behavior with her son’s nanny, Maria Cerrato. According to New York Magazine, Smith used various substances and the threat of deportation to coerce the woman into getting intimate.
Cerrato also stated that Anna apparently loved her and wished to marry her, with her behavior becoming inappropriate when she was under the influence. The court case regarding Marshall’s money was still in the early stages at this point, so having another legal matter to contend with wasn’t ideal for Smith. What’s more, the nanny was ultimately victorious with her claim, leaving Anna in a troubling situation.
