It's the show that's being dubbed Britain's answer to Big Little Lies.
And Anna Friel, 43, certainly gave viewers something to talk about as she enjoyed a saucy romp with a married man in the premiere episode of Deep Water on Wednesday night.
The scene saw her character, Lisa Kallis, in the midst of a steamy liaison with Adam (played by Steve Toussaint) in a bathroom during a dinner party - only for her to cut the steamy act short after being spotted by a mystery person.

After being spotted, Anna proved to be in such a hurry that she leaves her knickers on the floor while fleeing the bathroom.
The scene prompted a huge response from fans who questioned how realistic the scenario was, while others expressed concern over her forgotten pair of knickers.
They rushed to Twitter to express the following thoughts:
'Nothing about this is remotely like anything in the real world that I live in.. Who would leave the bathroom door open? Who'd forget her knickers. Who'd be so easy seduced? Who'd be smiling as a boy is pulled out water after nearly drowning. I could go on #DeepWater'

ITV’s new six-part drama Deep Water is set in the stunningly imposing Lake District and is based on two of the books in author Paula Daly’s Windermere set of novels,

The series explores the intertwining lives of three mothers with children around the same age, and for Anna – who has a 14-year-old daughter Gracie by Harry Potter actor David Thewlis – the drama hit close to home.
‘The last line of episode one is, “Just what kind of mother are you?”, and of course I found myself asking myself that very question,’ Anna recently told Daily Mail's Weekend Magazine.
‘The answer is that, like most mums, I do my best but it’s not easy. Life, for most of us, is not tied up with a bow.
'While making Deep Water I thought I’d be getting back to Gracie at home in Windsor every other weekend – a six-and-a-half-hour commute from the Lake District – but during the entire four and a half months of the shoot I only got back there for a single week.
'Life goes so quickly and you run the risk of missing out on so much if you’re not around your children.’

It seems life in La-La Land is really rubbing off on Anna Friel.
The British star, who appears in the hit show Pushing Daisies, headed off for a shopping trip along Wilshire Boulevard wearing a very kooky outfit indeed.
She donned a baby blue Lycra leotard and black leggings for the afternoon outing - a look usually reserved for budding young ballet dancers, not 32-year-old Hollywood actresses.

However she remained unfazed by her head-turning outfit, and set about stocking up on supplies at a number of discount stores, including Ross Dress for Less.
Anna recently revealed she and husband David Thewlis are happier than ever in Los Angeles and have no plans to return to Britain.
She told Page Six magazine: 'You know, I'd always thought we'd go back [to Britain], but David and I had that conversation the other day asking, "What happens if Daisies doesn't continue - would we then go back?"
'I think my life has sent me in this direction and that I should be here.'
Anna, who has a three-year-old daughter Gracie, also revealed she is keen to expand her brood. She said: 'I really want to be a mother again.'

The actress also puts on a flirty display elsewhere as she has co-star Kelsey Grammer literally eating out of the palm of her hand during an intimate dinner.

In one scene, Anna, who plays Grace Gordon, unwinds in the bath, with just bubbles helping to maintain her modesty.
In another clip, the actress shows off her curves in a plunging green gown before heading to a dinner date with Fraser star Kelsey, who plays a Southern congressman.
The story follows Grace Gordon, who has returned home following the sudden death of her father, and finds her life immediately changed from privileged to penniless.
Realising that women in 1960s America have very little power, in a bid to change the law she reaches out to the Southern congressman after meeting him at her father's funeral.

Speaking of the film, producer Richard T Lewis explained: 'Charming the Heart of Men is a story of the dawning awareness of the central character during the dawning awareness of a nation.
'Many of the issues faced in 1964 are the same issues the world is dealing with today.'
The new trailer comes after after Anna shared a sweet clip of her daughter Gracie blowing out her candles on her 16th birthday as she doted that her birth was the 'best day of my life'.
The Marcella star posted the heartwarming video to Instagram, which saw Gracie beaming from ear to ear.

Captioning the post, she wrote: 'Yesterday, 16 years ago, was without question the best day of my life because I was given the honour of becoming your mother Gracie.
'We were lucky enough to be in the mountains with our family. Gracie You are the kindest and most delightful human being I have ever encountered.
'I am so proud of who you are and what you stand for. Keep doing what you are doing and life will continue to shower you with wonder. You are my heart. I love you. Happy happy sweet 16th my beautiful, always, Mama.'
Anna shares her daughter Gracie with her ex-partner and actor David Thewlis, 58, who is now married to his French partner Hermine.
The former couple first met in 2001 on a flight to Cannes and, despite Anna's endometriosis diagnosis in the same year, they welcomed Gracie in 2005. They announced their separation in December 2010.
