Anime has always been inclusive of characters from different races , religions , and genders . More specifically, they’re known for their portrayal of characters from the LGBTQ+ community . Unlike other mediums, anime always tries to celebrate their gender.
However, today, we will be solely focusing on transgender anime characters . Creating a transgender character can actually go sideways but these talented writers made sure to give each character depth and development regardless of their gender.
Anime brought the spotlight to these characters. They stressed that these people are just like every other person, thriving in their lives. Today, we are going to discuss the lives of some best transgender anime characters .
Mario is a supporting character of the anime named Cagaster of an Insect Cage . “They” are seen with medium-length blonde hair. Some people refer to “them” as a male, while others call “them” a female.
Mario behaves in a feminine way, loves to wear makeup, and does not care about what people think about their personality. (That’s how everyone should live their lives)

The concept behind his character is quite unique as it conveys the message that genders of all sorts exist among mythological creatures as well just like humans. I think this idea should be explored a bit more so we can have more inclusive characters even in fantasy anime. His favorite dress is a Kimono as he is seen wearing it all time.
Bernadette Pink is a supporting character that appeared in the anime named Child’s Toy . She is a middle-aged woman who works as a cook in the anime. Bernadette has long brown hair with a masculine body, but she identifies as a trans female.
Her role in the anime is that of a mother to the main cast of the anime (Sana Kurata & Brad) . Even though she was not their biological mother , the kind and caring nature of Bernadette made Sana and Brad treat her like their mother.
