Led by the radiant Archangel Seraphiel, the Angels were beings of light and order. They dwelled in the floating citadels above the clouds, watching over the mortal world with divine judgment. But when the Mariners began harvesting the sacred Sky Pearls—gems that powered the Angels’ heavenly cities—Seraphiel saw it as an act of theft and defiance.

'These pearls are not for mortal hands!' Seraphiel declared, her silver wings casting shadows over the land. 'The Mariners have overstepped their bounds. They must be punished.'

The Mariners' Defiance

The Mariners, a fierce seafaring people led by Captain Orlan Stormrider, had long sailed the skies in their massive airships, guided by the winds and the stars. The Sky Pearls were their key to unlocking greater power—energy that could fuel their ships, heal their sick, and protect their floating ports from the violent tempests that raged across Aetheria.

'We take only what we need to survive,' Orlan growled, gripping the helm of his flagship, The Thunder’s Fury. 'The Angels hoard the pearls while the skies grow darker. We will not bow to their tyranny!'

The War in the Heavens

The first battle erupted over the Floating Isles of Veymar, where Angelic warriors descended in blinding flashes of light, their swords cutting through Mariners’ sails. But the Mariners fought back with harpoons tipped with lightning, grappling hooks that dragged Angels from the sky, and cannons that roared like thunder.

The greatest clash came at the Stormwall Pass, a churning maelstrom where the two forces met in a battle that shook the heavens. Seraphiel dueled Orlan atop the mast of The Thunder’s Fury, her divine blade clashing against his electrified cutlass.

The Truth Revealed

As the battle raged, a young scholar—Liora of the Windrunners—discovered an ancient prophecy: the Sky Pearls were not just power sources, but fragments of a dying Sky Titan, a godlike being whose death would plunge Aetheria into eternal darkness if its heart was not restored.

Rushing into the battlefield, Liora shouted, 'Stop! If you keep fighting, the sky itself will fall!'

Realizing their folly, Seraphiel and Orlan called a truce. Together, Angels and Mariners combined their remaining Sky Pearls to reignite the Sky Titan’s heart, saving Aetheria from destruction.
