Syrotenko Andriy – Winner of the First All-Ukrainian Choir Conductors Competition, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Vyacheslav Palkin Academic Choir of Kharkiv Regional Philharmonic and of the Academic Student Choir «Ad Libitum» of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

Born in 1967 in the village Buskul, Kustanai region (Kazakhstan).

1984-1989 studied at the conductor-choral department of Poltava Music School by M. Lysenko, class of V.V. Sidorova.

1989-1994 — studied at the Conducting and Choral Faculty of the Kharkov State Conservatory (today — Kharkiv National University of Arts by I. Kotlyarevsky), class of professor V.S. Palkin.

At the same time:

1990-1994 — Artist of the Kharkiv Regional Philharmonic Chamber Choir.

1994-2000 — Chief choirmaster of the Kharkiv Regional Philharmonic Chamber Choir.

1997-2011 — Lecturer, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Choral Conducting, Head of the choir of students of Kharkiv National University of Arts by I.Kotlyarevsky.

1998 — winner of the First All-Ukrainian Choir Conductors Competition.

At the same time:

2004 — present — artistic director of the students’ choir of Kharkiv National University by V. Karazin.

2007-2011 — chief choirmaster of the Philharmonic Chamber Choir.

Since 2011 and is currently the artistic director and principal conductor of the Vyacheslav Palkin Academic Choir of the Kharkiv Regional Philharmonic.

Under the direction of A. Syrotenko, the Vyacheslav Palkin Academic Choir of Kharkiv Regional Philharmonic received the Grand Prix at the International Festival «Hynomka Days of Church Music» (Hynowka, Poland, 2011) and «Special prize for the best performance of a work written after 2007» at the XXV Bartok International Competition (Debrecen, Hungary, 2012), at december 2018 the collective received the first prize in the choir competition «Shchedryk — Fest» (Pokrovsk, Ukraine).
