Andrew Lincoln Announces Return to Television in New Thriller Series

Fans of Andrew Lincoln, best known for his iconic role as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead, have reason to celebrate—the British actor is officially making his return to television in an upcoming thriller series.

According to industry reports, Lincoln has signed on to star in Shadow Point, a high-stakes espionage drama produced by a major streaming platform. The series, described as a blend of The Night Manager and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, will feature Lincoln as a disgraced MI6 operative drawn into a dangerous conspiracy.

This marks Lincoln’s first major TV role since his departure from The Walking Dead in 2018, though he later reprised Rick Grimes in a cameo for the series finale and is set to lead the long-awaited Walking Dead spin-off films.

'Andrew is an extraordinary actor with incredible depth, and this role will showcase his range in a way audiences haven’t seen before,' said producer Emma Thompson (no relation to the actress).

Filming for Shadow Point is expected to begin later this year, with a tentative 2026 release date. Meanwhile, Lincoln continues to work on Here, the upcoming Robert Zemeckis film where he stars alongside Tom Hanks and Robin Wright.
