An online selection was announced for greenhouse gas trading in Uzbekistan

For the first time in Uzbekistan, an opportunity of organizing the sale of greenhouse gas was launched on the electronic trading platform “E-auction”.

The main purpose of the selection is to involve a service organization in the process of implementing projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and organizing their sale.

For information: In accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 117 dated March 7, 2024, it is defined that the total amount of reduced greenhouse gases resulting from projects implemented in public-private partnership with foreign and local investors or in other forms with the participation (order) of state organizations and enterprises will be disposed of by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Economy and Finance - National Body will introduce an initiative proposal for the implementation of projects aimed at the production of verified carbon units, which will be managed by the state in the volume of reduced greenhouse gas emissions. In the implementation of projects of this category, the Working Body acts as the initiator of the project.
