An online meeting was held with representatives of the Imperial College London


Representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance held an online meeting with the Leonardo Centre on Business for Society under the Imperial College London to discuss the implementation of the project aimed at helping the private sector on a green economy transition in Uzbekistan.

For information: This project is being implemented with the support of the World Bank, and its purpose is to support enterprises in the economic sectors to transition to the green economy and to direct them towards sustainability, and to help with development of a long-term program on increasing their competitiveness in the global markets and the introduction of local products to European markets.

Livio Scalvini, Leonardo Center director, prof. Maurizio Zollo deputy director, Tanya Popeau and Jabbarov Ibrat, employees of the Center, and representatives of the Green Economy Development Department of the Ministry participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the mutual cooperation on the issue of increasing the capacity building of local enterprises on the green economy transition, introduction of the principles of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) in their activities, as well as the establishment of the "Green Lab" activity aimed at helping to cover green components in the process of forming the supply chain of national products.

At the end of the event, the parties agreed to further expand cooperation within the framework of the project and to accelerate the implementation of the project.
