On November 7, Tashkent Financial Institute hosted an international online conference on "International Financial Reporting Standards: Opportunities and Current Issues" in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, professors and teachers of the Tashkent Financial Institute and other higher education institutions, associate professor of the International Business School of the UK Hult Hamid Irgashev, ACCA, ACA heads of the Chamber of auditors of Uzbekistan, leading experts in the field of accounting and audit, as well as students.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, professors of the Tashkent Financial Institute and other higher education institutions of the Republic, Professor of the Halt International Business School Hamid Irgashev, heads of the Chamber of Auditors of Uzbekistan, specialists and students.

The conference focused on local and international experience in the implementation of international financial reporting standards. In particular, Hamid Irgashev's report on the UK experience in implementing the IFRS at the conference left a deep impression on the participants.

At the webinar, the head of the Department of Accounting and Auditing Methodology of the Ministry of Finance MM Yakubov made a presentation on "Introduction of International Financial Reporting Standards - a new stage of reform." During the presentation, the speaker spoke about the ongoing reforms in the field of accounting in the country, the work carried out by the Ministry of Finance on the introduction of IFRS, financial support by the state for IFRS and improving the system of IFRS training. The participants were also provided with detailed information on the operation of distance learning platforms (ifrs.academy and profimsfo.uz) developed at the initiative of the Ministry.

During the conference, the participants made reasonable proposals on the introduction of IFRS and improving the system of training in accordance with IFRS, and proposed to hold such events on a regular basis in the areas of reforming the accounting system in the Republic.
