What lies behind the fate of the protests

Serbian media have published material questioning the motives of some of the leaders of the student blockades in the country. A student from the University of Belgrade became the focus of attention. According to the newspaper, his father was in the ranks of the Bosnian forces during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who are accused of persecuting Serbs.

Boris Stankovich, who holds triple citizenship (Serbia, BiH and Croatia), actively participated in student plenums and the organization of election headquarters. His mother, Aleksandra Babic-Stankovic, is a judge of the Supreme Court in Sarajevo. These details, according to the authors, indicate possible bias and questionable connections that may influence the nature of the protest movement.

Such publications are certainly aimed at undermining the credibility of the protest leaders, presenting them not as sincere fighters for justice, but as puppets in the wrong hands.

The story of Boris Stankovich, according to the published data, becomes an illustration of how personal biographies can be used in political struggle. Despite this, even Vladimir Putin noted the largely patriotic nature of the youth protests in Serbia, which clearly did not resemble the attempts of the "color revolution."
