With so many A-list celebrities speaking up about ageism, and society not allowing them to age gracefully, it’s no surprise that cosmetic fillers are now entering the conversation. Amy Schumer revealed that not only did she get the dermatological procedure, she also hated it so much that she had it removed.
She shared her facial procedure about getting the fillers dissolved on her Instagram page as her cheeks were slathered with white numbing cream. The comedian joked that she looked like a Disney villain, “tried getting fillers. Turns out I was already full. Thank God you can dissolve them I looked like #maleficent.” She also tagged her dermatologist, Dr. Jodi LoGerfo DNP, APRN, FNP-C, who added her medical expertise to the situation in a repost of Schumer’s photo.
“Using dermal filler can be a wonderful way to replace lost volume and enhance the face, but filler placement is extremely important! @amyschumer came to me after having filler elsewhere and we decided that where the filler was placed, was not ideal, so we dissolved it,” wrote Schumer’s new doctor. “Dissolving filler is a very simple and quick treatment. I injected hyaluronidase (an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid) to dissolve it!”
Dr. LoGerfo made sure to point out that she wasn’t the injector who did the original procedure while also reminding everyone that there are benefits to filler (if you decide it’s right for you). Cosmetic enhancements are such a personal decision , but it’s also vital that celebs speak up when things go wrong. There should be no shame in getting them, nor should anyone be criticized for wearing their wrinkles proudly, but it looks like Schumer knows that filler isn’t the right thing for her (for now).

Amy Schumer is embracing her post-baby body. More than a year after welcoming her first child, 1-year-old son Gene, the 39-year-old actress and comedian stripped bare to show off her C-section scar in an effort to normalize women's bodies after giving birth. Schumer shared the image with her 10.4 million Instagram followers Sunday, writing, "Feeling like my c section looks cute today!"
In the post, the mom of one posed naked, her arm covering her chest as her C-section scar was put on display. The image drew praise from her followers, who celebrated Schumer's decision to so candidly open up about her post-baby body. Paris Hilton replied to the post with a series of flame emojis, and Vanessa Carlton wrote, "Feel like mine lookin' hot today too! What a coincidence!" Other A-listers to chime in included Debra Messing and Karen Pittman, with plenty of fans also showing their support. One of Schumer's followers called her C-section scar "a beautiful battle scar," with another writing, "that scar represents power, life and healing. You're beautiful."
After a difficult pregnancy that included a battle with hyperemesis gravidarum, or severe morning sickness, Schumer welcomed her son, in May 2019. Although she initially sought a doula-assisted delivery at a birthing center, she ultimately made the decision to welcome Gene via C-section at 39 weeks, opening up about the decision during an episode of the parenting podcast Pregnancy & Parenting in December 2019. Schumer explained that as she progressed further in her pregnancy, she had an "instinct" that she needed to pursue a hospital birth. She said delivering via C-section was "brutal," though she credited her husband, Chris Fischer, with helping her through the process.
"I was throwing up through the first hour of my C-section. It's supposed to take about an hour and a half — mine took over three hours because of my endometriosis," she said. "It was kind of brutal... But Chris was so great — we just stared in each other's eyes and he just held me there. Then they let me hold Gene for a good amount of time. I got to see him and hold him."
The Snatched actress went on to compare her C-section recovery to "torture," sharing that the relief after giving birth came with its own blessing as her hyperemesis symptoms instantly faded. Schumer said, "other than just having a baby, which a couple of people told me the day you give birth is the best day of your life, and that was true for me, but that relief."
Gene is Schumer's first child, whom she shares with her husband. The couple married in a secret wedding ceremony in 2018. They announced in October 2018 that they were expecting.

Comedienne Amy Schumer gets completely naked in her new series Expecting Amy.
The Inside Amy Schumer star, 39, gave birth to son Gene in May last year after suffering a difficult pregnancy as she suffered from the condition hyperemesis gravidarum, which causes severe vomiting and nausea.
Gene is her son from her husband and cooking show chef Chris Fischer, 40, who she married in 2018.
In the documentary, Amy says of difficult pregnancies: "I resent the culture and how much women have to suck it the f**k up and act like everything’s fine. I really resent that."
According to USA Today , Amy gave "hundreds of hours of footage" to Expecting Amy director and editor Alexander Hammer, with Amy and Chris shooting it themselves and not necessarily with the intention for it to be more than a personal home movie.
"It was just like a lot of things in my life are," revealed Amy. "I just have, like, an instinct, and I just follow it and see if something comes of it, and sometimes it does."
In the end, the no-holds-barred series goes so far as to show Amy get completely naked while heavily pregnant and standing in a pool.
The series also delves into Chris' autism diagnosis and how he and Amy react to the news.
She says in one clip: “He knows that his brain is different.
"His brain just sees things so differently. He’s just the f***ing best."
One raunchy scene in the documentary, however, also includes Hollywood star and Chris' friend Jake Gyllenhaal reveal a surprising detail about the new dad's anatomy.
Appearing in a scene with other childhood friends, 39-year-old Jake toasts Chris and says: "We’re going to start this off with Chris is the only uncircumcised one amongst the four of us, which was a mystery to us as young boys because we only knew the penis to be one way."

Expecting Amy is available on HBO Max in the US but does not currently have a UK release date.
