Amy Schumer is embracing her post-baby body. More than a year after welcoming her first child, 1-year-old son Gene, the 39-year-old actress and comedian stripped bare to show off her C-section scar in an effort to normalize women's bodies after giving birth. Schumer shared the image with her 10.4 million Instagram followers Sunday, writing, "Feeling like my c section looks cute today!"
In the post, the mom of one posed naked, her arm covering her chest as her C-section scar was put on display. The image drew praise from her followers, who celebrated Schumer's decision to so candidly open up about her post-baby body. Paris Hilton replied to the post with a series of flame emojis, and Vanessa Carlton wrote, "Feel like mine lookin' hot today too! What a coincidence!" Other A-listers to chime in included Debra Messing and Karen Pittman, with plenty of fans also showing their support. One of Schumer's followers called her C-section scar "a beautiful battle scar," with another writing, "that scar represents power, life and healing. You're beautiful."
After a difficult pregnancy that included a battle with hyperemesis gravidarum, or severe morning sickness, Schumer welcomed her son, in May 2019. Although she initially sought a doula-assisted delivery at a birthing center, she ultimately made the decision to welcome Gene via C-section at 39 weeks, opening up about the decision during an episode of the parenting podcast Pregnancy & Parenting in December 2019. Schumer explained that as she progressed further in her pregnancy, she had an "instinct" that she needed to pursue a hospital birth. She said delivering via C-section was "brutal," though she credited her husband, Chris Fischer, with helping her through the process.
"I was throwing up through the first hour of my C-section. It's supposed to take about an hour and a half — mine took over three hours because of my endometriosis," she said. "It was kind of brutal... But Chris was so great — we just stared in each other's eyes and he just held me there. Then they let me hold Gene for a good amount of time. I got to see him and hold him."
The Snatched actress went on to compare her C-section recovery to "torture," sharing that the relief after giving birth came with its own blessing as her hyperemesis symptoms instantly faded. Schumer said, "other than just having a baby, which a couple of people told me the day you give birth is the best day of your life, and that was true for me, but that relief."
Gene is Schumer's first child, whom she shares with her husband. The couple married in a secret wedding ceremony in 2018. They announced in October 2018 that they were expecting.

AMY Schumer poses nearly naked in a nude thong for a hilarious picture - showing her clutching a pup in a hot dog suit.
The US comedian, 36, wowed her fans with the funny and gorgeous kitchen snap on Instagram, as she named it one of the best moments of her year.
The blonde stand-up, who also caught her friend howling with laughter in the background, smiles gamely at the camera in the pic, which features her own dog, called Tati.
The cute pic has attracted almost 70,000 likes and thousands of comments on Instagram, including: "That's how to make a hot dog hot!"
Another fan cooed: "Real woman, no butt shots!" while a third wrote: "Wow you are gorg."
Amy went through a major break-up in May this year when she split from furniture designer boyfriend Ben Hanisch, but she still found ten moments of joy to post about including this pic.
Other proud moments she'd documented in photos included the Women's March at the start of the year which saw her protest against Donald Trump with Madonna.
She also posted a snap of herself performing in the Comedy Cellar in New York with Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle - who she was involved in a pay row with this year.
Fans were outraged when it was revealed she was paid less than Rock and Chappelle by Netflix - though she later said she didn't deserve being paid as much as them as they are the "greatest comics of all time".
In a post under the original hot dog pic in August, Amy wrote: "Thanks for chiming in on what you feel I deserve to be paid. I believe women deserve equal pay.
"However I don't believe I deserve equal pay to Chris and Dave. They are legends and 2 of the greatest comics of all time.
"I would like to say that I have been selling out arenas these last couple years. Something a female comic has never done.
"That's a big deal to me, especially because I know I do my best every night on stage for the audience and they have a good time. I didn't ask for the same as my friends.
"I did ask for more than the initial offer. I will continue to work my ass off and be the best performer I can be. The reports of me 'demanding' or 'insisting' on equal pay to them aren't a true. #fat #stealsjokes," she concluded.
Reports claimed Rock and Chappelle had earned around £15m for their comedy specials, while she had been offered £8m - but Amy did get significant compensation by pointing out how unfair this was.
Also this year Amy and Goldie Hawn's movie Snatched came out to mark the US Mother's Day, and grossed £44m from a £31m budget.
All in all it seems to have been a great year for Amy, who even managed to get in a cheeky prank on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West at a red carpet event.

Amy Schumer shared a video of herself in the bath Wednesday as she scrubbed up ahead of an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The comedienne and actress was pictured from behind with her naked back on display as she sat in the round tub.
Her hair is tied up into a messy bun and she is leaning back against a white fluffy towel draped over the side of the bath.

In the short clip, her dog with boyfriend Ben Hanisch is seen coming into the bathroom and sniffing around.
'Gilda has no boundaries,' Amy, 35, joked.
The video was posted on the Instagram Stories account for Ellen's daytime chat show. Amy taped an interview to promote her film Snatched that opens Friday.

'Trying to take back last night and get ready for Ellen!' she explained, before heading to the bath.
Amy and Goldie star as mother and daughter in the big screen comedy Snatched whose exotic holiday turns into a tale of hilarious terror.
It marks the first film in 15 years for legendary star Goldie, who's 71.

Judge Judy's bailiff Petri Hawkins-Byrd gingerly holds the sisters apart in one Instagram snapshot, which Amy captioned: 'Ay yo what up Byrd!'
She posted two more photos from the set in which Judge Judy is sitting in her courtroom giving the sisters her 'look'.
Judy Sheindlin herself was at her usual elevated podium, surveying Amy and Kim, who stood below.
'Judy Judy Judy Judy Judy Judy,' Amy captioned the first photo, in which the comedian buried her face in her hands, and the second photo, in which Amy looked up, exasperated, was captioned: 'All rise!'
