Last year, Nicholas Hoult became a double Screen Actors Guild Award nominee when he was recognized as part of the cast of “ The Great ” as well as for his individual performance on the show. Now, he and his costars are back in the running for the comedy ensemble prize, but leading lady Elle Fanning is the one who has been singled out. Her portrayal of 18th century Russian empress Catherine the Great constitutes the first regular TV role on her two-decade-long acting resume. If she succeeds on this outing, she will be the first performer to win a solo SAG Award for playing a real person on a comedy series. In the comedy actress race, Fanning faces Sandra Oh (“The Chair”), Jean Smart (“Hacks”), and “Ted Lasso” duo Juno Temple and Hannah Waddingham . Smart and Waddingham both won Emmys for their roles last September and, along with Temple, are also

An elementary school classroom may seem an odd place to launch a romantic comedy that soon finds its protagonists coupling with abandon in a slew of quasi-public spaces. But in the rom-com “ Hooking Up ” — available digitally and on demand — that’s precisely where magazine writer Darla emerges from, having had an afterschool special with a stranger on a teeny desk. Then again, a school proves perhaps too apt a location. There’s a rudimentary feel to “ Hooking Up ,” which stars Brittany Snow and Sam Richardson as a twosome who embark on a road trip with benefits. Genres often provide refuge to first-time feature filmmakers. Director Nico Raineau and co-writer Lauren Schacher hug the familiar beats of the form while rubbing up against its conventions with some naughty, sometimes endearing tweaks. That school turns out to be a busy one. There’s a sex addiction group in one room and a cancer survivors’ gathering in another.

Even in trying times, a great movie can do wonders for you. The prospect of watching Sam Richardson and Brittany Snow in a romantic comedy already offered up some glowing potential, but nothing will prepare you for how wonderful this film is. A charming, funny, and sexy rom-com, Hooking Up even manages to get serious at times in a way that never betrays its core entertainment value. With terrific performances by Richardson and Snow, who display absolutely phenomenal chemistry, this is one of the year’s most pleasant surprises. Coming to VOD on Friday (an initially theatrical run is obviously out of the question right now), it deserves to find a place in your hearts. The film is a romantic comedy couched around a road trip. When Bailey (Richardson) and Darla (Snow) first meet, they’re in a school entering very different support groups. He’s a survivor of testicular

"I'm trying to distract myself, but I'm still terrified." Saban has unveiled a trailer for a spunky relationship comedy titled Hooking Up , premiering in select theaters and on VOD in March. Produced by and starring Brittany Snow , the film is about a "mismatched duo" that end up on a road trip together. Bailey, played by Sam Richardson , and Darla, played by Brittany Snow, embark upon a misguided and mutually deceitful form of therapy, one in which they must drive across the country re-enacting Darla's colorful history as a sex addict. As their true motivations for the spontaneous road trip come to light, the unlikely pair must force one another to confront their issues, discovering that there might actually be more to love than just sex. The cast also includes Jordana Brewster , Vivica A. Fox , Amy Pietz , Anna Akana , and Rob Moran . This looks like a quirky, fun romantic adventure. I

In a People exclusive look at the first trailer to her comedy Hooking Up , Snow stars as Darla, a writer who gets fired after her sex addiction spirals out of control. While in a therapy group, she meets Bailey ( Veep star Sam Richardson ), who has been recently diagnosed with testicular cancer. According to the Oup blog, the U.S Hollywood studios underwent a disastrous recess in the early 1960s. Fortunately, it led to a massive boom from 1967 and significantly increased its movie market. Hollywood is the focal point of the U.S film industry and boasts of tourist sites like The Hollywood Walk of Fame and Beverly Hills. Additionally, it accounts for more than 90% of the total revenue the U.S film industry generates. Such a developed entertainment sector is obliged to attract people into pursuing filming as a career, and one such actress is Amy Pietz . Working for widower Beth ( Amy Pietz ) and her two daughters, Eliza ( Gillian Zinser ) and Julia ( Nicole Scimeca ), Byron has something of a rude awakening when he realises just how much work is involved in a farm’s day-to-day operations. His sponsor Josh, a lawyer, isn’t around much, so it’s left to a skeptical and overworked Beth to show him the ropes. Meanwhile, Paulie ( Marcus Henderson ), Byron’s friend from prison, tempts him with an easier and eminently more appealing alternative.
