Amy Garcia is a presenter on the Yorkshire and North Midlands version of the BBC regional news programme, Look North.

Garcia was born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire and attended Kettlethorpe High School in the city. [2] After studying Media and Performing arts at Wakefield College, she left at 19 to go to London . Garcia had various jobs on children's television but also presented holiday and lifestyle programmes. [5] She worked at Sky Television for two years [6] before studying for an MA in journalism which led to a reporting and stand-in role on Look North in 2009. [1] [2] She then left to go south again and was a presenter on BBC South Today and also being one of the presenters of BBC Three's 60 Seconds. [1] [7] In 2013, Garcia moved back to Yorkshire and took over as co-presenter of BBC Look North after the BBC had sacked Christa Ackroyd. She has worked for BBC Yorkshire for over a decade
The latest Wakefield news and updates straight to your inbox
A familiar face for many of us, Amy Garcia has graced our screens for years.
The BBC Look North Presenter is known for her hard-hitting journalism, including her work to highlight the cost of living crisis.
And she always knows how to look good while doing it. Some may even say she is the North's Holly Willoughby, which is a fitting comparison since the pair both started out in children's TV together.
Like her pal, Amy has since gone on to enjoy success in numerous glitzy roles, and she can often be seen enjoying herself on the job, whether she is taking part in an unusual charity fundraiser or taking a scenic tour on a steam train.
But what is her life life off the TV screen? Equally glamorous, if her Instagram is anything to go by.
Wakefield -born Amy, lives in York with her husband of over ten years and their two young children.
While the presenter mostly prefers to keep her children out of the spotlight, she does enjoy sharing sweet snaps of her son and daughter.
And she is happy to gush over her hubby, songwriter, Tim, like in the below Instagram shared in celebration of their 11th wedding anniversary last year.
It is also clear her family mean a lot to her, as evidenced by her heart-warming post to mark her parents' 45th wedding anniversary.
Just like her parents, who are covered in mud in the snap, Amy is not afraid to get down and dirty when needed.
Among the many adventurous activities she has undertaken for work, she has previously completed a military fitness course, and she once bear crawled around the office for the day after meeting a fundraiser attempting to complete a marathon in the same way.
The 'good sport', as her fans called her at the time, is also one for sports, and she is often pictured enjoying herself out on ski slopes.
Another thing that is also clear: Amy has worked incredibly hard to get to where she is today.
As a youngster, she attended Kettlethorpe High School and Wakefield College before moving to London aged 19 for her first TV job.
After four years spent working on programmes for CBBC, CITV and the Disney channel, she moved to Sky, and Amy then went onto achieve in MA in television Journalism.
Prior to joining BBC Look North as a co-presenter in 2013, she also worked for BBC South East and BBC Three, where she presented 60 Seconds news.
And Amy often proudly shares clips of her work to her Instagram page.

The new co-presenter of BBC Look North in Yorkshire has been named as Amy Garcia.
Born and bred in Wakefield, the 32-year-old will co-present the programme with Harry Gration from 25 November.
She joined Look North as a broadcast journalist four years ago before moving to BBC South Today in 2012. She also presents BBC Three's 60 Seconds news.
Her appointment follows the dismissal of Christa Ackroyd in July for what the BBC described as a breach of contract.
Currently on maternity leave after the birth of her first child, Garcia will be moving back to Yorkshire, where she still has strong family ties, with her husband and new baby.
She said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to the North and can't wait to share the sofa with the Yorkshire legend that is Harry Gration."
Like Gration and Look North weather presenter Paul Hudson, Garcia grew up in Yorkshire.
She attended Kettlethorpe High School and Wakefield College before moving to London as a 19-year-old for her first job in children's TV.
She spent four years in the children's genre, cutting her teeth on live TV programmes on CBBC, CITV and the Disney channel. She then worked for Sky for a period, before studying for her MA in television Journalism, for which she achieved a distinction.
The head of BBC Yorkshire Helen Thomas said: "Amy will be a huge asset to our team of first class journalists on Look North. Her natural warmth and empathy, combined with her track record in TV news, really shone out for us.
"We're looking forward to Amy working with Harry, Paul and the rest of the team, and I'm very proud to have an all-Yorkshire presentation line-up."
