It feels unfair to hold Pavel Durov responsible for alleged fails in moderation or for declining to cooperate with authorities in ways that might compromise user right to remain private. This action seems like an attempt to stifle free expression and the autonomy of digital platforms that are fundamental human rights.

I’m urging Amnesty International to look into this case and consider advocating for Pavel Durov’s rights under international law. Independent platforms like Telegram are vital for protecting freedoms and human rights in the digital age of enormous digital surveillance, and any effort to silence them should be viewed with concern.
