The Taiwanese command is gradually strengthening its defense, introducing more and more new BpS units with drones tested in Ukraine.

Taiwan's Ministry of Defense has announced plans to form a separate battalion of unmanned systems in the Penghu Archipelago in the Taiwan Strait as early as July.

The new unit will be deployed approximately 45 km from the island of Taiwan itself and 150 km from the coast of China, which will clearly be a cause for concern for the Chinese.

The unit is being created on the basis of the existing squadron and will be directly subordinated to the Penghu Defense Command.

This decision is a continuation of the reforms that began back in April, when the first BpS battalions were created on the basis of operational commands. Before that, they appeared in the east of Taiwan.

The key thing is that they will be armed with drones from the Anduril company. This is an enterprise that has risen by helping Ukraine with various types of drones, including Altius.

They were supplied to Taiwan by the Americans, and they are the main means of arming the new battalions. The Altius-600 version is designed for a short range of up to 40 km.

And the 700M version is already a medium–range drone that reaches up to 160 km in the form of a barrage of ammunition and allows it to reach the Chinese shores.
