Shocking Upset on American Idol as Fan-Favorite Eliminated Amid Voting Controversy

'I voted for Javier 10 times, but the app kept freezing. Something wasn’t right,' tweeted user @MusicLover99.

ABC, which airs American Idol, released a statement late last night: 'We are aware of the concerns regarding tonight’s voting process and are reviewing all data to ensure accuracy. The integrity of the competition is our top priority.'

Meanwhile, judge Katy Perry seemed visibly upset during the elimination, telling Reyes, 'America got it wrong tonight. You’re a star, no matter what.'

Conspiracy Theories Emerge
Some fans speculated that a surge of votes for rival contestant Emma Clarke, a country-pop singer, may have tipped the scales unfairly. Clarke, who had been in the bottom three twice before, delivered a strong performance but was widely considered less polished than Reyes.

'Emma’s fans must’ve used bots. There’s no way Javier lost fair and square,' one Reddit user posted.

What’s Next?
Producers have not yet announced whether Reyes will get a second chance, but an insider revealed that the show is 'taking the allegations seriously' and may address them in next week’s episode.

For now, the American Idol stage moves forward with its Top 5—but with millions of fans demanding answers, this controversy is far from over.
