Our list of the must-haves you still can't get your hands on in the UK.
It's 2018 and we still don't have a Sephora in the UK, but at least we can finally get our hands on brands like Glossier , Kat Von D, Make Up Forever and Marc Jacobs. But what about all the other American beauty products that we still can't get over here? We want Milk Makeup too don't you know. There's only one thing for it... It's time to book that plane ticket. Dramatic I know, but just think of the brand spanking new makeup bag you'll come back with.
To save you some time I have made a list of my must-have beauty products for anyone visiting the US. Oh and if your budget just won't stretch to a plane ticket, you can always suck it up and pay that Sephora shipping fee, or over the odds on Amazon...
This matte bronzer is enriched with Murumuru butter which gives it the perfect creamy texture, despite being a powder product. Designed as a powder/cream bronzer hybrid, it melts into the skin giving you a sun-kissed glow that is always natural, never orange. Plus, did I mention it smells like coconuts?
The only way I can describe this Tatcha spray is like someone kidnapped Jennifer Lopez, stole her glow, bottled it and put it on sale in Sephora. Honestly a couple of mists over your makeup and your face will radiate luminosity like nothing else. I stock pile this whenever I'm in the states and I've raved about it so much I now have to buy additional supplies for my friends.
MILK is like Glossier's cool younger sister and you know how cool Glossier are. This cooling water gel stick can be used on bare skin or under makeup to instantly cool, de-puff and restore glow to the skin. Plus, the cooling effect will make it your new BFF during the hot summer months.
I won't lie, it can be difficult to find a decent highlighter for under a tenner that's not packed with a load of chunky glitter. But this Wet n Wild highlight costs less than £5 and even got Jeffree Star's seal of approval. The pearlised pigments leave your cheekbones blinding (I managed to track one down in CVS) and more importantly smooth.
Koh Gen Do was founded by Japanese actress Ai Saotome who was inspired to create her own line of foundations after finding the heavy makeup used on film sets left her skin feeling stressed and looking dull. Her foundations now have a cult following with Liv Tyler being a big fan.
If you've ever got a hairbrush stuck in your hair trying to get out those tangles at the back of your neck, you need this leave-in conditioner in your life. It detangles, minimises frizz and helps seal split ends...what more could you want?
This lip balm can heal even the most chapped of lips over night. If you're lips are feeling a little on the dry side, put this on before bed and I promise that you will wake up the next morning with skin so smooth a baby would be jealous. Plus it actually tastes of sugar, so that's always a dream and you can buy tinted versions for the day.
There is one reason and one reason only that this concealer made my list and that's because it's Kim Kardashian's favourite. Admittedly an investment at $70 but seeing as I've had my Rimmel stick concealer for 10 years, I'm sure I'll get my moneys worth...
This medium to full coverage foundation got onto my radar after Sam Chapman from Pixiwoo raved about it. Promising to hydrate and smooth with its argan oil packed formula, I might just need to bathe in this.
Belif is an affordable Korean skincare brand that has been creating quite the hype since it launched in Sephora. Their lightweight True Cream Moisturising Bomb is their hero product due to it's intense hydrating, soothing and softening formula.
This black cleanser contains activated charcoal to get rid of all the dirt, oil and impurities you don't want on your face. As well as charcoal it also contains artichoke leaf which minimises the appearance of pores, vitamin c to improve skin brightness and glycolic acid to exfoliate.
Milk are known for their handy, portable stick products and their matte bronzer is no exception. The stick format makes it really easy to swipe over your face for a quick sun-kissed hit and their 'melt technology' means it glides with minimal effort or makeup disruption.
Stellar makeup was founded by television personality Monika Deol who felt that medium skin tones were often overlooked by makeup brands. Her highlight and contour palette contains everything you need to add dimension, glow and colour to your face.
Youtuber Jaclyn Hill caused hysteria around this luminous finish setting powder when she raved about it on her channel: "Every single time I apply this powder I'm so thankful Lancome created this in the first place". Lancome please make this available in the UK!
Kim Kardashian gave her seal of endorsement to this body lotion after she revealed it's one of her all time favourite beauty products and helps with her psoriasis. Described by the brand as "a luxurious finale" I just wish it was available over here.
Because their Butter Bronzer proved to be such a smash hit, Physicians Formula expanded their Butter line to include highlighters and blushers. With the same cream to powder formula that melts into the skin, I'd say this highlighter was worth the air fare.
This $5.99 drugstore foundation went viral after Jeffree Star tested and compared it to a $125 Clé de Peu foundation. Hailing Wet n Wild the winner, Jeffree said it left his skin looking flawless even after 8 hours wear.
If you're into your 'clean beauty' Lawless is a brand that will make you book that plane ticket right now. Founder Annie Lawless is committed to using ingredients that don't harm your skin, your health, the earth or animals.
The Internet went nuts for these Sephora Pro eyeshadow palettes when they were released and while I can appreciate the brightly coloured version, I just know that these warm tones are what my heart really wants.
