Vuelva a intentarlo en otro momento. Like the title says it’s a great book for your coffee table. It takes you on a journey revisiting classic pin-up to modern pin-up. I love the beautiful color photos. There is even a directory in the back to get in touch with the photographers. This would make a great addition to your home! Drawbacks: I wish there was more classic pin-up in it and I wish they would have listed contact details for all the models in the book instead of just the photographers. Great selection of pics and photographers. Printed on quality paper -well made book. I bought it used at a reduced price. Not a lot of writing but rather a visual collection to be inspired by. I bought this book after I saw it mentioned on the inside cover of Alvarado’s Classic Modern Pin-ups, which is a fantastic book full of wonderful, contemporary pin-up photography.
THIS book, however, fell WAY short of my expectations. Very few of the images resembled the «pin-up» style of photography at all, and many of the photos didn’t even look like they were professionally shot. It looked more like some of the girls in this book just asked a friend to take some «sexy photos» of her for her boyfriend or something. There ARE a few good, professional-looking shots scattered throughout the book, but overall I was completely disappointed. I knew I was going to send it back before I was even half way through the book. I highly recommend the first book I previously mentioned above, but save your money and do NOT waste your time on this one. You can honestly find better (or just as good) pin-up/boudoir photos on Flickr. Beautiful pinup pictures of modelsfrom different photographers. Coffee table kinda book to have. Recreation of the Vargas type of pictures.
I looked through this book once and put it down. I got it cheap so didn’t feel like going through the trouble of returning it. The photos inside are amateurish/cheesy with the exception of a dozen or so photos. The cover photo looks good (recreation of Alberto Vargas). Many models inside I’m not thrilled about. I am a pin-up photographer myself, my photos would look better than some of the photos inside this book. There are definitely better pin-up books out there. The book is a nice compilation of contemporary pin-up photographs and index of photographers. Both you can find on the Internet. There are no lighting diagrams, equipment descriptions, PP techniques etc. Text is scarce and not of much use. It’s good to have collection of modern pin-ups in one place but if you need something about photo techniques or history of pin-up look elsewhere. This is a well put together coffee table book which documents style and color changes throughout the passing of years. I bought this for my son and he is very pleased. 5.0 de 5 estrellas A good looking book filled with good looking women. A nicely produced book, with some very nice women. Perfect book for aspiring art students too. More fun than anatomy books for the artist.
